What is the most self indulgent Prince album ever

In the 90s Prince got very self indulgent with his musical talents, the tendency for him to wibble may have started with "extended jams" on 1999 and Sign O the Times but Graffiti Bridge I think was the first real indulgent album.

Which 3 albums do you think were the most self indulgent. Imean songs with Bizarre instrumental jams, weird singing like Solo and self indulgent limited release stuff like Gold Nigga and The Plan.

But my votes are
1. Emancipation
2. Kamasutra
3. Symbol

prince was a GREAT cd in my opinion. I don't know how you can say that. Maybe I don't know what you mean by indulgent. What ever you want to call it, I just hope Prince keeps them coming until I'm 70.

Emancipation.

Would have made a great single album.

The prince album is definitely self-indulgent, as brilliant as it is.

Emancipation does seem to be the most blatant example.

I just listened to the whole thing over the last two days, forcing myself not to skip any tracks and keeping an open mind. Final analysis: The favorite songs are still favorites and the horrible ones still bother me. Except I did find I kinda like Dreamin' About U more than I remembered.
I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

Emancipation and Symbol, definitely. Lovesexy is way self-indulgent too, but its message/concept balances it out, so it doesn't bother me much.

The Black Album, because he was trying to sound black, not realizing that he was always black. Bad attitudes from brainless music fans do not count for much.

Relax. My opinion that the Symbol album is rather self-indulgent is NOT a slam. In fact, I think the Symbol album is pretty great and it's definitely one of my most played Prince albums.

Kamasutra and NEWS are the epitome of self-indulgence but there are other examples of that.

I'm surprisd noone said TRC. I like it overall, but it's totally elf absorbed. It's his vision, his world and he makes no apolgies about it.

I was just about to! It's easily his most self indulgent album. It's also one of my favourites too.
