For Drums check out "I'm Yours" on the For You album. I hope its him and not Morris..

For piano, I like "How Come U Don't Call Me" "The Max" for the solos, and "Venus De Milo" is a very nice piano instrumental..

Prince played the piano on Venus De Milo? And all this time I thought it was someone else. Was it him playing the trumpet on SISIA?(sometimes it snows in april)

Hi I feel that it ishis song "how come u don't call me anymore". Please take a look at prince's live purple rain vhs or dvd(1984) and he plays the purple:) out of "purple rain"with his on stage performance.
If I were u i would take a look at prince's older recordings. Since he normally used to record with the revolution and NPG and other musicans, it is sometimes hard to decipher is this prince playing this part or lisa and sheila E.Some times prince lists on the cd who is playing what on what particular song but many times it is not listed.

If I were u

I would take a listen at prince's older songs/albums/cds where u know he basically played and or recorded most ofthe stuff himself. Also looking at Prince's livein concert dvds and tapes are a good way to see his skills from a professional level sort of semi in personand u can make your own personal judgemnt about what song is the best. Iam not only saying this because i dig prince but he is really is a talented musician. Most people don't even realize that he is a good musician like for instance if i had a band i would like prince to play on my cd and in my band
cool razz

I hope this helps, smile

While you're listening to Venus De Milo from Parade, check out the first 3 tracks on that album. That's all Prince, it's been told that he did the drums for all 3 tracks in one continuous go.

To see him play drums, get the Sign O' The Times dvd, he gets behind the set but only for a short time.

Piano wise, there's used to be a piano medley at most of his concerts, if you can get hold of Livesexy watch that. Or listen to the One Night Alone album which is Prince on piano on all the tracks.

Prince's coolest drum moment is on the live 1985 version of "America". I'm surprised Bobby Z got back behind the kit after Prince tore it up.

I'm really surprised people mention this one again and again... it really isn't all that, IMO.

Livesexy is the concert video of the 1988 Lovesexy tour live in Dortmund Germany. It was released on 2 VHS videos in Europe but I don't think it was made available in the UK and it hasn't officially been put on DVD. It's hard to find these days unfortunately, as it is a fantastic show.

That is no trumpet, it's him bending his voice
I feel pretty, that's enough
