yeah, Purple Rain still takes me 2 a place that's hard 2 explain...

whenever I am in a real hard time or a real good time in life...

I find myself popping in Purple Rain

it heals and inspires....

a few years back one of my best friend's dad died..(cancer, hit him fast)

anyway, i was driving 2 the funeral and put on Purple Rain and yeah, tears did flow..

Almost every time I listen to Powerfantastic . That song just gets to me.

"Shy" makes me cry in my panties when he says, "ooh, baby, don't you wanna be alone tonight?"

It took over twenty 20 years to finally cry listening to a Prince song.
And I have to say it is the 6 minte guitar solo of Purple Rain that he played on the live broadcast in 1985.
Starting to listen at 10 mins into the song until about 16th minute.
WOW!
I could not appreciate it at the time.

i dont want 2 go in2 2 much detail but this song was played at the funeral of a very special friend of mine who totally beat me in2 submission 2 adore prince as much as she did!! she was a wild,beautiful person who was taken from us in `91 when we were 19.i miss her very much & her passing has totally changed my life! even thinking about the initial chords of this amazing,emotive song brings me 2 tears so i sooooo dont go there! anyway i wouldn`t normally post something this personal but i`m pissed & feel happy that Prince has hit #1 after all this time.party party!!

Purple Rain has a feeling of Pain and Dignity all wrapped up IMO as well as other emotions, difficult to explain. Beautiful song that belongs in a Hall of Fame for future generations to enjoy

Songs RARELY make me cry...but I Can't Love U Anymore gets me damn close.

Supplemental fact: The only song I can think of that made me cry was Space Oddity. I can't even explain why.
