Okay, which song has now surprisingly grown on you, and which still need to grow?? From 3121...
Just recently I've absolutely fallen in love with "Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed" -- it's such a gorgeous song, and then the last couple minutes even get better -- but I'm still not diggin' "The Dance" too much -- it sounds like a good Lisa Coleman song but with someone else's arrangement -- as if it keeps climbing toward a higher plain but never quite makes it, burning out instead from exhaustion -- and "Incense & Candles" is still growing... maybe if I had someone special to get me into just the right mood. Okay, now you're turn...

The Dance has really started to grow on me. I especially like the ending.Reminds me of some old Parliament ballads. Can't say the same for Love though. I don't see what the fuss is about with this song. Personally don't like it at all. Too techno-sounding for me. To each his own though. THIS IS NOT MUSIC, THIS IS A TRIP!

I am now over the "growing on me" phase. I am officially addicted to this album. I love it. I didn't like Te Amo when I first heard it, but listening to it on the cd, it sounds amazing. Just like every other track on the album. I also didn't like Love too much, but now it is one of my favs. Now I can't find one song on this thing that I don't like. A new classic, in my opinion.

3121 grew on me. I didn't like it at first but after listening to it that computer voice actually flows well with his and the grooves.

3121 is the grower, this song started as a daisy and has turned into a triffid with me now!!!!
When i got it, I liked Lolita and Black Sweat automatically. All the others except Te Amo have grown on me, but I think that song was a poor choice as a single, especially after the very average SST, anyopne remember that??? (Prince 2005) 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

Okay, now you're turn... Songs don't generally grow on me. But if I reexperience a song in a different place, like in a music store or someone else's house, I start to hear it in a new way. Sorta like how when the teacher would show a movie clip in class that you've already seen a million times, but you laugh because it's in a new environment--recognizing something familiar in an unusual setting is funny. Cuz context changes everything. Am I making sense?

Okay, now you're turn... Your right about Beautiful, loved and blessed. It is a beautiful song. I really like it. And that surprises me cuz it is usually not my style. Incense and Candles has grown on me...but only the first half...I don't know something werid happens in the last half...I get bored with it. Get on the Boat has not grown on me yet and I don't think it will.

I still think Lolita's the best track on the album , and the tracks I thought coud be better have all grown on me about by about 20% now , ie I like 3121 , The Boat , The Dance , Fury . 3121 is pretty good when I consider it as purely a pop album , e.g Fury isnt as great rock song but its a decent enough pop piece, hes done far better funk than Get On The Boat but it works for me as a poppy number with funky horns . I even appreciate Satisfied a bit more , even though its all verse and practically no chorus , the verses are cool .
So 3121 gets a thumbs up from me , its better over repeated listenings , no classic , but its fine and recommendable for sure Check out Chocadelica , updated with Lotusflow3r and MPLSound album lyrics April 2nd 2009 :

The Dance has grown a lot on me ... took a while but I now fully appreciate its artistry.
Incense & Candles still needs to grow a helluva lot bigger to even become visible to me I'm afraid it's gotta loooong way to go y'all...a looong way. Forever changed

I liked "The Dance" upon first listen, but now I've grown to LOVE it. Sometimes I hear those gorgeous flutes in my head when I wake up in the morning. The strings, the building and releasing of tension....it's so dramatic. I can't wait to see this done on stage.
