The End Of The World.

These songs never gave me that idea.
Party LIKE it's 1999, so; LIKE the end of the world.
It means giving EVERYTHING, methinks.
The songs make me wanna dance, not reflect.
Crystall Ball makes me reflect. That songs breathes mnore doom than 1999 or The Dance Electric.

1999 is the only Prince song that I don't care if I ever hear again. Purple Rain is a close second.
Just got tired of hearing them on radio and live.
Way too many great songs to listen to by him.

Dance Electric is still cool, a little dated sounding but I enjoy it's obscurity.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

1999 is about care-free partying before The End comes, but The Dance Electric is more about "You better do what's right while you got the time, and love all your enemies." By the way, Dance Electric also refers to 1999 if you add up the years "left to go" with the year the song was written. And of course the song "God" makes mention of "Dance the Dance Electric... there isn't that much time." A lot like doing "The Work Part 1".

Yep, The Dance Electric is still very cool.

No, I never thought that the end of the world was going to come soon. They were just 2 great partying and dancing songs that made me shake my Groove Thang.

And yes , I still get that feverish high that I used to get the first time I heard them. That funky, wild, jungle groovy thing.

Moonbeam

Add Crystal Ball, Let's Go Crazy and The Cross to the mix. The Cross, 1999 and Crystal Ball are my 3 favorite Prince sogns, so the idea of armageddon obviously appeals to me in his work.

1999? Nope. Was lookin' forward to the party.

Yeah. I imagine what 2999 might be like because 1999 was a HUGE klunker. Everybody sitting next 2 a generator, eating canned greens and peaches. rolleyes
