Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) recognises Prince This story has been in the org's vault 4 sometime now, but 4 those who missed out:
It is great 2 c a great muscian, (who out of a handful, knows how 2 make REAL music) ) standin right up, and acknowledgein Prince. Billy, is without doubt a immaculate singer-songwriter, and knows Prince is the best of his type. He doesn't eva mention crap, in interviews, only what is significant. http://www.addict.com/iss...age_3.html Sam Prince 2010 Good Luck for Future & Tour

Sharon Osbourne once referred to Billy Corgan as "a baldy c*nt in a dress."
Not being a party pooper. Just sayin'.

Billy Corgan didnt have too kind of words to describe her either. He hired her as the Pumpkins manager for a brief period of time a couple years ago, but from what I read it didn't work out because she was demanding too much money, and going against the groups' interests.
Billy Corgan stood behind his band much like Prince defends his own music, with a bit of arrogance, sometimes too much, but always there. I wish him the best. Siamese Dream is one of the best freakin rock albums in years.

Not being a party pooper. Just sayin'. How is Sharon Osbourne like my medical insurance policy? Answer: What they approve takes up a quarter of a page and what they don't approve takes up about 10 pages. LQ

Is it true that the former Smashing Pumpkins drummer was the brother of Wendy, but he died? Didn't he play drums on Do U Lie? Confirmation, any1?
As far as that article...I really am not clear on what he's saying. It sounds as if he's saying Prince acknowledges the great people even if he has no clue about their music (i.e., Hendrix, as he said). I think Prince DOES listen 2 Hendrix however because he has covered Voodoo Chile.

Billy is sayin that Prince isn't scared of his influences, but my point is, when u hear Billy talk, he never mentions crap, u know like, he'd never mention crappy boy bands or pop crap. 2 mention Prince is a thumbs up I think Prince is a direct influence on Billy. Jonathan Melvoin was found dead of a drug overdose in a hotel room and, yes, he used to play the drums for the Pumpkins when they were on tour. "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."
