Why does Prince always bring fans up on stage?

Why do you think Prince always brings fans up on stage? I have often wondered that. I mean, it's an amazing experience for a fan but it's a little dangerous. What are your thoughts?

Until I get my turn up there, I think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread!! Not until after that, will I even entertain the thought of anything negative about it.

Now back away from the subject. johnwoo

with coo coo's on this board (and you know who you are) talking about what they want to do to him, I would think dangerous for Prince.
I don't want him to stop because like i said before it's an amazing experience for a fan but i would really like to know why every show...

(well, when i win the purple ticket, i'll just have to ask) lol

Maybe because he is the best performer of our time and knows how to show poeple how to really have a good time at a concert!!!

The only artist I have ever seen where everyone is standing up for the entire concert

Thats a testament by itself!
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Have you seen the Philly 97 DVD?
That chick was out her mind! At least Prince played it off well by "jokingly" asking for security.
That was a classic moment!

What is it with Philly?! This crazy old white lady climbed her way (props to her ability to climb her old tush up on stage) and tried to massage him through his clothes (standing up) LOL

Philly is ill! LOL nuts nuts

It sure is. nod

At the Tamar show in Chicago, there were people touching him and behaving in a way that in my opinion crossed the line of respect and disrespect. But he handled it well by just ignoring them and playing his ass off like nothing was happening. When the females got no reaction, they stopped.

he did the same kind if thing in Dallas at the ONA (i think) show... home girl kissed him and he said something like "it's getin crowed round here...help her find her seat"

and there is the classic part in the America video where someone grabbs his coat and they have that tug of war prince is grinning like it is all fun and games. the guy almost pulls prince off the stage so prince pulls the coat off and sticks his tounge out at him. then the security guard can be seen running towards the guy.

yeah sometimes it almost looks like it was all set up... but if it is real prince really made it look like it was all in fun. (check it out if you have not seen it... it is pretty far into the video...but watch for the security guy running over) there is also a madona video where some guy runs up and hugs her and she plays it off until the security runs up....

In the times I've seen Prince live, I've found it to be a huge waste of time and space... I'm there to see Prince, not the overdressed fools that he pulls up there to act silly. I've got no use for it at all.

(kind of back to "Love")

during the "fans on stage part" of Tamar's concert in DC they started doing the "aWWWWW shake it baby" "Shake that thing c'mon. Which is making me think even more that Love is about us.

I have enjoyed seeing fans on stage (well the sane ones). I met some folks at the celebration that I saw on the aladdin video and i felt sooooo happy for them. But i guess after being a prince fan for 20 years it gets old.

Like, I think that bringing one lady up on stage to sing to is cool. You know, the "are you a leader or a follower" stuff. That is just an experience of a lifetime, but a whole gang of folks dancing is annoying.

I'm gettin tired of it too. A lot of people go to his shows with the goal of getting on stage. I came to the show to see him not his (myself included) aging fans.

And this especially goes for TV appearances why would he take away from a short TV appearance by bringing up fans?

But I think it's here to stay, last tour I remember without it was the ACT I tour.

But I can't lie, I've been up there dancing too lol , during the ONA tour.

Because he knows people get off on that idea. I went up once and was dancing like a fool but it didn't matter because I was right behind Prince. It kind of made me feel like he's just a normal dude with amazing talent who really enjoys the fact that people appreciate that and that's his way of sharing.

theres even the ONA budokan one where the weee Japanese guy sings into his mic.
You can just tell that he is going to do it too. Standing at the mic and running his fingers through his hair seductively then letting out an almighty scream.

lol

yeah, there's always the risk that there'll be that one lunatic fan who'll ruin it for everyone else...thankfully nothing's happened like that yet (and hopefully never will!), but it's cool that ol' boy's taking the plunge and trusts us enough to let folks on stage to dance n'such.
