I have downloaded the record from the Net before it was released, and i must say i was quite dissapointed with the album after my first listens. I had read the positive reviews from the listening sessions, and i am sucker for his groundbreaking eighties stuff (the man changing vision and sound with every release), and maybe i was hoping for some new 'Sign' secretly.

I have the album 'for real' now for more then a week, and i must say: its in my i listen to it everyday, in the background mostly, but nonetheless, the record is surely growing on me. I almost skip no tracks, and i think that, alltough it is no masterpiece, its a very solid, even record, with a relaxed sounding Prince not trying to break new ground, sticking to what he is good at mostly.
In that way this cd reminds of Diamonds and Pearls, a record i did find to slick at first, but on hindsight its one of his records i put into my cd-player the most, because its proof of someone who masters the art of songwriting and produces enjoyable music in different styles, with some little surprises throwed into the mix.

In general i think its his most enjoyable record since the Gold Experience, and right now i am rating it 8 / 10.

Good for you Riverpoet31. I said it a few times here tihis CD is a grower. Give it time. For some it ain't working but for others it takes 5 spins. It's all good either way.

It grew on me by the second listen but I changed the order around alil bit and I love it the way I have it. Listening in the order below I find it way better.
