And if you want to keep it completely authentic you just play one CD after another in the soundsystem. You know, switch CDs after one has finished. That way you get to hear both albums in their original format! With "Animal Kingdom" included! And no "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" cuts thrown in the mix!

Yeah, I did this for a friend, making an all acoustic Prince CD. It turned out fantastic and I considered doing the same, but I think I'll just keep it the way it is for myself...

different order.Plus "Condition of the heart" and
"Power fantastic"!!

Hey.

Yeah, ok, I know. Too many cdr tracklists and Prince has
released the material the way it was intended etc etc.

But this is one thing that just works amazingly well and
I just had to tell you about it.

wink

"The Truth" and "One Nite Alone" fit together perfectly
on one single disc.

And it works brilliantly. Never gets boring since the songs
constantly shift from piano to guitar.

I play it now whenever we have company over and no one has
complained about the music yet. Which they ALWAYS do no
matter what you put on. [people have a tendancy to even hate
their OWN favorit music when others play it. I think they
just want to bitch about SOMETHING.].

Here's my tracklist:

01.The Truth
02.One Nite Alone
03.Don't Play Me
04.A Case Of U
05.3rd Eye
06.I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore
07.One Of Your Tears
08.Young & Beautiful
09.Circle Of Amour
10.Avalanche
11.The Other Side Of The Pillow
12.Have A Heart
13.Objects In The Mirror
14.Dionne
15.U're Gonna C Me
16.Fascination
17.Here On Earth
18.Man In A Uniform
19.Pearls Before The Swine
20.Come Back
21.Welcome 2 The Dawn
22.Arboretum

The only thing I've changed really is leaving the Truth song
"Animal Kingdom" off the disc and instead putting the Rave
song "I love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore" on it.

Pucker.

But fcuz if you would want to keep it authentic, you could
leave off "I love U but.." and include "Animal Kingdom" but
than you might have to cut the silent end off "Arboretum"
to squeeze it all on one disc.
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

That compilation CD might work fine if you are disabled or something. Otherwise, I'm with you, Novabreaker.

Switching CDs one after the other completely misses the point of what this post is about. The point is to create one's own album from songs which fit well together. In the process, a unique feel will be given to these songs in their new configurations.

ZaZa

Numerous times since ONA was released I've mixed it in with The Truth when I program the cd player. The cd player I use is a 3 cd player so I always add in a third cd. Sometimes its NPS & I use Wasted Kisses and The One. Sometimes its Rave. Beautiful Strange goes nicely. Just a matter of getting that right mix.

TRON

I made this exact thing the minute ONA showed up in my mailbox except I put the albums on in order in their entirety. I might try your idea of mixing it up to see what it's like. Don't ever hesitate to post personalized tracklists. They're always fascinating no matter what the material is or who's created them. Another good idea I think is making a cdr of ONA and Intimate Moments. They work nicely together as well.

Hmmm, after I'd received a pirate copy of this, I was going to do the same thing. Not sure whatever happened to the plan, but anyway... Isten (you hot thang, you), I'd leave off Arboretum (you know, it's an instrumental, and I usually think of them as inconsequential in compilation-type things). Include all of the Truth. All of ONA (except Arboretum) and include I Love U But... and Tangerine (extended). Not sure if all that fits, but that's what I'd do.

OK then why don't you learn to play guitar and piano and play a concert for your friends ?
