I was asking 2 myself this Question too..... I think that bringing fans up on stage is mindless and useless...First bcuz being a musician myself, its pretty distracting and Second point, what's about the rest of fams attending the concert? This brillant idea could b pretty humiliating and creating jeaulousy, bitterness....A silly idea...
Lot of GREAT ARTISTS dont need seeking attention like Prince does on stage. They perform and thats enough.....

FM, I whole heartedly concur about the people who were all up on P. at the Chicago, Tamar show!!!
I was standing next to him just digging the vibe and I was horrified at how people put their hands on them, there was a guy or two, doing the same thing. WTF? It was almost like they did not know he was a) a stranger and or b) a human being !! I posted a review of my experience onstage dancing and the only lame part was the women and men getting up on him. I was standing there to the left of him immersed in how awesome the moment was, he was so into playing his guitar and it was really a blessing to be there. I felt and feel grateful for the experience. It is really cool of him, generous really to have people up there, I just hope people remember their 'home training' and respect the man. Its his stage. We are just participants, would be backup dancers if you will. Love wins. (Seen on bumpersticker)

I have mixed feelings about it. I don't mind it so much, but I remember during the aftershows at PP in 2004 that the first nite I spent half the time watching a bunch of people dancing and we couldn't even see Prince. I felt cheated out of my $50 that nite. But the worst thing was at the Friday aftershow. The minute he calls out for dancers, all the peeps start pushing forward, and since I was in front, I was crushed against the stage and all the other people were too. It was really dangerous and I had visions of European soccer matches. I don't think Prince knows how bad it gets out there sometimes.

I wouldn't mind so much if...
a. they didn't stay there so long, (I came to see Prince). b. if they would just dance and keep their distance from Prince. The man is working for gosh sakes. At the Miami Tamar show there was this one girl who kept getting really close to him. I was a little annoyed and worried. He ignored her and eventually, she backed off. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I personally enjoy watching ppl’s faces when they are chosen by him to come onto the stage. They shake like no tomorrow and those smiles it is like watching a child open a pressy u know that face they have when they have received something they realy wanted . He gives some a memory they will never forget.
What I dislike is when ppl rush that stage they do not care who they hurt I have seen a few over the years fall flat on there faces, ppl getting tripped up and squashed against the stage. DON’T DO THAT!! One time this woman started screaming at this gentleman who was in a wheelchair, she believed he was in her way and she attempted to move his chair thank God for good people they sorted her out. But divine intervention happened when she returned to her seat this gentleman was sitting in it, she tried to create a scene and she was asked to leave what transpired this gentleman was late arriving and she had taken his seat Now watching her face while being carted out was so funny

It was during the Detroit leg of the Musicology tour at Joe Louis Arena when people were being helped onto the stage when this eager heavy set lady was being helped up on the stage and she fell on her way. Half of the arena gasped while the other half laughed. Prince just stood there as if to say,"Now u know I cant help your big ass up these stairs!" I laughed so hard that a tear came down my face.

When ppl do that I have so wanted him to say into the microphone “don’t touch what u cant afford” Or To walk up to them and nip them hard on the backside and say into the microphone “it hurts don’t it” then him walking away laughing. Please Prince do it u will have us all in tears of laughter
