The dance is my favorite track on the album, And I especially like the ending, I think the lyrics are funny. Though I never heard the first version of it.

BTW, I may have mentioned this before, but one small piece of absolute brilliance in this song is right before he goes into the second verse, maybe 2 or 3 seconds There is a singular, piercing piano note at 1:12 which just blows me away for some reason. Weird.

In regards to where this song ranks, it is WAY to early to make fair comparisons to the classics. Time will only tell. I can say though that I am officially changing myself to fanatic in my profile becuase of this song.

Tried to listen to it again...still don't like it. Don't like Adore or Scandulous or Emancipation (the entire album) either...Prince's sappy ballads bore me.

But I DID like CalhounSq's play by play of what she thought the video should look like.

instrumentation sucks for this song.. fake everything...

I didn't notice the dance too much first go around or 2 and it has been one of the ones I listened to least but now as i'm hearing it I love it!

I love all the arrangements and piano and all of that!

I didn't get to hear the other version too much before I lost it but I think I like this one much better!

In my opinion, it's the best track on the album. It's classic Prince in terms of the songwriting, but like everything he's released since Emancipation, it's production is god awful.
