On the Entertainment Weekly site there is a poll with the following question and the results after i voted for Prince:


Which artist would you most like to see selected as a theme for an upcoming round of American Idol?

Madonna - 54%

The Beatles - 21%

Prince - 14%

Dolly Parton - $7

The B-52's - 4%

Prince songs are hard as hell to sing. The man has unlimited range hi to low. Think of "Damn U" He goes from Bass/Baritone low to Soprano/Falsetto high in one note.

As an addicted AI viewer, I think it would be awful to ever have a "Madonna" one. Her songs aren't challenging as she can't sing well herself. It would be like having a Paula Abdul version or something.

I think a Beatles one would be cool.

Prince should have had his Tue. night to promote the album. Would have been better than Manillo.

Who could see those folk ripping it up, it would be great.

A Prince episode would be fun to see - I don't think anyone who's ever been on the show has his range as Prince is fairly underrated as a singer, but they could certainly find songs that don't require his whole range.
