In a ((undisclosed) period of time), you will put 3121 on the shelf, and what Prince album will you be putting in your music listening device?


Personally, I went out and bought "nose reduction" headphones for 3121. Almost a waste of money if you asked me now, but I will go and pop in lovesexy.

Im listening to Emancipation right now. (I Cant Make You Love Me)

So I guess I've gone back to Emancipation. I havent listened to it in a while. I cant believe its almost been 10 years since it's release. I remember when this album dropped like it was yesterday.

i go back to the same one it seems, sign o the times.....

I'm still enjoying 3121 but I've, also, been spinning several tracks from Emancipation, Come, and (my fave).

Hell if I know what P album I will listen to after 3121,
could be any of them. The mood influences the choice.

I went back to Musicology just to compare the two and how better it is than 3121.

I am staying with 3121 it requires serious listening, failing that I will go back into the archaeological epoch of Musicology (wow that was some years ago!!!)

I have listened to Around The World In A Day a lot lately - Kinda hooked on "The Ladder" .....

I'm going back to the Rainbow Children, but at the end of the month I'm going to buy "The Crystal Ball" "Xpectations" and "Karmusutra"

Lately, I enjoy better Purple Rain. So, for me thats the album to go back.

Listening to Lolita made me go back to Album #1, For You, to listen to the original version of Lolita called Soft & Wet.

Get On The Boat made me go back to The Rainbow Children to listen to The Work.

And Satisfied took me back to Musicology for On The Couch.

I'm not knocking 3121 at all though. I like the album. And god help me for admitting this but I was actually listening to New Power Soul yesterday. The One and Wasted Kisses are great songs. And there's a few others there that are pretty good. I'm sure I won't listen to NPS again for 2-3 years though.

I've also been listening to the last 4 songs on TRC. I think it's one of the best last few songs on an album since Purple Rain. Although, Parade is right up there. But, that could be another thread all on it's own.
