I have listened the hell out of 3121 over the last few days. I feel like a starving man who has been eating peanut butter crackers for several years and someone finally brings out a damn steak! Maybe it's no filet mignon but it is everything I have been missing about Prince for a long time. I liked "Musicology" but it felt very paint-by-numbers. 3121 is exciting and, like all great P. albums, I have discovered something new every time I have listened to it. It is bold and unpredictable and FUNKY and hooky and just goes down the right way.
