I think Incense and Candles is a very good ballad, its sung sexily and funky, and makes a good cool down from the sheer falsetto strut of Balck Sweat. To the precursor the even funkier and dancier Love. These two are great songs and definitely not fillers or weak bland ballads.

Well, I like it , but I also like Acknowledge Me and Right Back Here In My Arms and the Mustang Mix, so ...

People criticize him for emulating current RnB trends, but hasn´t he always kind of mirrored what was going on in the charts back in the day , just with a bit more of his own creative twist ?

He´s from a Funk/Soul/RnB background too, not just Rock or Pop , so I´m cool with him sounding the way he does...the rap and the street lingo is not really necessary but it doesn´t really taint the song.

There are many people out there that like it. Those of us that actually like r&b are just not as vocal as the r&b haters.

That's not to say I don't like it, but it's nothing very original for Prince.

this song SUCKS!! one of two misteps on the album...horrid..horrid...worse then appearing on Fear Factor and eating donkey balls...

The prob is with many orgers who don't like a song simply because it falls into a specific genre or trend... usuallu it's anything true R&B sounding or more to the point.. reflective of whats played on contemporary R&B radio and video stations... then they flame people who state they do like said songs.

In fact, I hate those songs so much that I skip them everytime, they are that boring to me.

And I don´t like some of the corny lyrics in Incense And Candles, but On The Couch or shit like 12.01 is something I simply don´t wanna hear.

Yeah, I didn't get 3121 till 3/22. And after reading all the reviews from orgers I thought I&C was gonna suck, and I LOVED IT!!!!

It fades the quickest for me.. very tiring after a few listens.. a lot of forced moments.

too bad.. he almost can rap to a decent status... I think tho, that is a lost cause for prince.. its like he is out to prove something.. still after all these years with that damn rapping.

I would really like this song if it weren´t for
