You know what I did yesterday before listening to the new album? I watched my old Prince live video. It's was from the Dirty Mind tour and it was live in New York (get this) on March 21, 1981. 25 years later I decided to catch my hero in his rebellious, badass glory, and it's still fucking amazing!
Maybe that's why I was a bit disappointed about the new album. To me it just wasn't as exciting or as ballsy as Dirty Mind. He seems very complacent on 3121. Not that it's a bad thing. But I wanted some FUNK! I'll put it to you this way: I'm more inspired by the old Prince who had a dirty mind rather than the new Prince who works up a black sweat. Yeah, I know he's grown up now, but I'm still young, so Dirty Mind speaks to me more. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I'd STRONGLY advise you not to do that again here - BananaCologne] He'll probably never make an album like Dirty Mind again. I want some ROCK and some FUNK! No more jazzy adult contemporary pseudo-gospel safe shit. ROCK! [Edited 3/22/06 13:43pm]

how is the quality on that item? i had it on video but it was hard to watch... but the sound was great. The quality was fairly good. The only disappointing thing is that at the end of "Still Waiting", the damn show cuts off. And I'm pretty sure that's not where the show ended. I ain't even get to hear "Uptown". And no, I am not offerring any copies. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
