3121 from Funky ass loops cd?

My boy in Cali pointed out to me that the song 3121 is from wink one of the Loops from the Michael B/Sonny T/Prince sample complilation "Funky Ass loops", from a few years ago. I have not had a chance to pull out the cd and listen to the sample, but there is something VERY familiar about the song. I just could not put my finger on it but I think he may be correct.

Press play on 3121 and shout "hold on 2 yo wigs!" - then you'll see what's familiar about it.

The bass and drums loop. I'm not complaining about that at all - I adore DOW and always wished it was heard by a wider audience and deserved a long, continuous 45-minute maxi-single which would take it in all different directions, much like the live versions. Now I have new hope of something similar with 3121 (and with a Camille-style vocal thrown in for good measure). This is fantastic!

Michael B on 3121 involvement:

we, meaning sonny and i, have not received any formal request or inquiry about joining prince for anything, other than an occasional recording session.. and that hasn't happened since last october.. i only presume that one of the songs we recorded will be on the album, 'cause i think we played on the title track, "3121".. but, even that is not a guarantee that it will appear.. the majority of the material we recorded when we were employed by prince has yet to see the light of day.

Michael B on Funky Ass loops CD:

after we did those sample cds, we heard ourselves all over mcdonald's commercials and whatnot.. it mostly made us upset, because ad executives were walking in their boss's office with our funky grooves, and bringing down fat cat ad accounts, and making mpore money with our sound than we would ever have the opportunity to.

have you heard the "sons of almighty"cd? not to come off like i'm working retail, but if you're interested in hearing a record we really put alot of work into and really represents us well, you can order "the great tribulation" on my website: www.michaelbland.org -
there's a merchandise page with a picture of the record and a link to a store that sells and ships it, the electric fetus.

What did Mb expect was going to happen with the loops cd project? I've heard them on ads, tv, and motion pictures but that's what they are for isn't? To sample? Hello I paid over $100 each for these and even thought I don't sample, I would use these if I choose too.
