3121/Heaven? 3121 is that supposed to be heaven? Ya know, like Paisley Park. 3121 ya can never leave. Sorry don't have the booklet w/me, but y'all know the lyrics. So he's sayin don't ya wanna get saved and go to heaven in this album.
WHY does Prince always use codes for this kinda stuff? I mean, he's so religious, or whatever. Well then why all the mysterious crap? Isn't it WRONG to refer to heaven as 3121? Or Paisley Park. Whats the deal? | |

Well Prince obviously wants us to read into it. Why else would he say "3121 don't ya wanna come?". Who talks like that?

Besides the fools on this site get mad enough if he uses religious words, he can use 3121/paisleypark,/the dawn,,whatever he wants if its fonky..i dont care....now...Dont U wanna come? 3121 Stand Up! I agree!! Why does it even have to mean anything? Why can't it be for simple enjoyment...without interpretation? When I go to McDonals, I don't ponder the relevance of the chicken nugget...or wonder aloud why Ronald wears those big ass shoes!! I take them for what they are worth...pay the lady in the booth...and drive away knowing I'll soon be enjoying what they claim to be beef. Who really cares about anything deeper...ya know? Sure, music can and should be interpreted. But, it should be intepreted internally by the listener. The artist themselves don't get to make that interpretation for you. Paisley Park is not Heaven it's a state of mind
turned studio turned concept like "Uptown" was a state of mind as much as it used to be a hangout. plus he never mentions "Heaven" as such on this album. 3121, if anything seems to be a regular joint 2 hang out and party. A physical place, even more so than Paisley Park. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |
