"Xenophobia Coming Soon 2 A Monitor Near U!"

That's what Prince says at the end of the song on the latest download from the NPGMC, 1+1+1=3 (live).

So, I take it that our next xclusive disc will b the live stuff played at the Celebration2002?

2 me, that would b so fine.

Can somebody say...double album? biggrin

I can wish, can't I?

(Oh...these fucking edits... hammer)

I think it will be a double album. He promised us (at least)
four new albums in the 2nd year. So he has to hurry since it is already juli and we received only one. Hopin´ and can´t wait cause this live version is PHUNKY!!

Didn't he promise 4 CD's...I don't remember anything about any "albums" per se...so if it's a double, that only leaves one CD left, right?

OK, so he had 5.5 months to produce 1 cd. So that gives him 7.5 months to produce at least 3 more!! Not noting the shipping, a lot of people are still waiting for their ONA cd. So there almost has to come a double cd...but that is my humble opinion.

That´s what I am saying. If the next is a double cd
then that leaves only one extra. Sorry I wasn´t that clear...cd´s...albums. rolleyes

I'm expecting a CD every 3 months... the first was sent 3 months after year 2 started, the 2nd is due in about a month. Xenophobia is my guess - not live stuff from the celebration, but rather the studio album.

Isn't a monitor a different word for a TV. So I think a DVD release would be the question.

Better not be! I have no interest in seeing Prince on a DVD player that I dont have. I want to hear NEW music. Thats all. Nothing more nothing less.

I think the NPGMC should give up the ghost and Prince should just swallow his pride and get with a label and give us an album a year again.

He is only diluting his stuff by giving us all this half baked crap that the club offers. Where is the time for him to sit down and make a great album again. And dont say TRC! That was crap!

Signing with a label and taking more time to work on a single album won't get you whatever it is you're wanting from Prince's music...if it did, then Rave Un2 should have more than satisfied you(he signed an agreement with a label for that one, and released "an album a year" during the 90's, so it fits that bill)...and you'd be lovin' TRC right about now(it was 2 years in between releasing Rave and TRC, so obviously he took time in creating the album...it's not "half baked" and rushed by any means)...the only thing signing with a label would really get you is better distribution and better promotion...not better music...

Then again, I know that how we are exposed to music often helps in determining how much we like it...and Prince's music right now is pretty much absent of all bells and whistles, all the hype and videos and radio airplay and singles coming out weeks before the album to create anticipation and full-page ads detailing his upcoming tour and all that...his music now mainly comes with comments about both his music club and his religious beliefs...and that's not nearly as exciting or entertaining as all the rest...

Once again, the NPG strike with cryptic message and get all the fucknuggets worked up over nothing.

Speculation will increase in intensity and before the end of the week they'll have convinced themselves that Prince is getting ready to release a 3cd box filled with live trax recorded during "Xenophobia: The 2002 Celebration".

All shows Prince performed over the course of 7 days [yes, all on 3 cd's. wow]

The box will include a free dvd, that will as if by magic contain 36 hours of footage shot at Paisley Park over the course of this year's celebration.

That same dvd will also include the promotional film that was shot for TRC, and a couple of video's from various projects that are yet to be released and an extensive list with comprehensive information about trax still in the vault [therefore cutting into Per Nilsen's profits from his upcoming book -clever].

And yes, it is about time he released a 3cd box set right now since he's running out of time, right?

God, how daft can a person be???!!!

See, the membership started running in FEB2002 and will run until mid FEB2003.

Therefore, One Night Alone was released in the 3rd month of membership and right now we are only in the 5th month.

Which would mean that if Prince releases a cd next month he's still right on track.

cd 1: 3rd month
cd2: 6th month
cd3: 9th month
cd4: 12th month

Is that such a strange assumption???

Than again, I guess some people's memeberships are kinda special compared to ours. They might actually be terminated by august since they're so backward they deleted their own account whilst searching for the download section.

But hey, who am I?

No doubt you'll just flame away. And might I say, be my guest.

Despite the strong language I think your post makes good sense.

Watch it now, before you know it these ideas will be attributed to Prince/NPGMC and added to the list of "promises" that he has gone back on. neutral

Prince without the occasional cryptic statement is like bread with no jelly. It would be nice to know what this statement refers to, but the IMO it's a minor complaint compared to the jam we just got out of nowhere.

I agree...there comes a point where, as a fan, you just accept the cryptic ramblings as par for the course...you don't spend much energy complaining about its existence, and you damn sure don't read anything into it...you just read it(or in this case, hear it), say "whatever", and go about life...at some point you'll find out what the cryptic shit was referring to, you'll download a song or an EP or a video or two or whatever it ends up being, and that's that...

well, if anybody expects a DVD release after this statement (Xenophobia-coming soon to a monitor near u), then that's neither Prince's nor the Club's problem, but their own.

No, see it IS Prince's fault, because it's too vague...and that vagueness is nothing short of Prince purposefully misleading us into thinking we'll be getting an exclusive DVD...

I agree with the space to deliver the remaining 3 cds, but what about the tour?

The tour was advertised as 2002 World Tour. If we are going to get picky about dates, then he has 5 months to tour the rest of the planet.

I hope I'm wrong, but I fear two outcomes.

1. He doesn't bother.

2. He does a whistle stop tour, popping into a few key sights in Europe, nips to japan and if he has time, dives down to Oz. This will leave half the fans frustrated and angry.

Another issue he will have with the world tour is venue size. To make the trip worthwhile, he will need to book bigger venues than in the states. But he risks not selling the tickets over here because of the stupid prices and lack of notice time.

I fear cancelled gigs and tears...I hope I'm wrong.

You make a great point, but #2 I think is unlikely...if Prince goes to Europe, Japan and Australia, that's pretty damn good...and I doubt he'll fly all over the world just to do 3 small opera house concerts per continent, it would be a huge waste of money and time...so if he hits all three continents, consider his "world tour" promise kept...

Fingers crossed.

Hell, I've even forgive him if the tour is later than expected (ie into the new year) as long as its within this years membership.

my two thoughts after hearing the downloaded 1+1+1=3:
1) i took the "coming to monitor" phrase as posibly meaning they might release xenophobia as a download like last years material.
2) during the celebration, in the listening sessions in studio b they played what was touted to be the next mailed out discs which was a complilation of ona shows mixed into one concert, i.e. a song from a washington dc show followed by a song from oakland, etc. it was all mixed and compiled prior to the show at the celebration with eric leeds doing 1+1+1=3. SO WHO KNOWS?

Fuck...who pulled ur chain!

I was just quoting what was said at the end of the latest download, from Prince's mouth 2 the mp3.

I was wishing...key word, wishing this meant a live cd from the Celebration, since a lot of us weren't able 2 attend.

There's nothing wrong with discussing something as long as people know from where they r coming. True, people here tend 2 go overboard on their expectations, but I think the majority know not 2.

As far as the "ideas" u listed, I would hope that any double or triple cd would still b considered as one release! Does anyone consider SOTT two separate releases?

I agree with ur time-table as far as the 4 promised discs, and never stated otherwise.
