Circuit City iN Troy Michigan (Oakland Mall)...please read!

Ok, so I go to Circuit City near Oakland Mall, just outside of detroit city and find only 3 cd's in the new release shelf.
So thats great the cd is selling really good, the only problem is their all opened!

Apparently someone had been going through whats left and opening them to see if there is a purple ticket. How insane is that!
Its Prince Hysteria now!

People are desperate for a purple ticket, I mean...I am, because I want to go and so far I've bought (3) cds 1 from Best Buy, Another from Target and the third one from a local record store in detroit!

Still no luck.
For my extra copies, I'm giving them to (2) co-workers of mine who loved "Musicology". I love the cd booklet and the sound is amazing.
"LOVE" is my favorite track so far.

On a scale from 1 to 10, I'd rate "3121" an 8.5 !!!

Oh dear, it's going to end up like that scene in the original Willy Wonka film:

TEACHER: Today we are going to learn about . . .
percentages. And for an example, let's take the recent
unpleasantness. Supposing that there were a thousand
3121 albums in the world and during the contest you each
opened a certain number of them. That number is a percent.
Everyone understand?

KIDS: (some moan; others:) No.

TEACHER: You, Zelaira, how many 3121 albums
did you open?

ZELAIRA: About a hundred.

TEACHER: There are ten hundreds in a thousand;
therefore you opened ten percent. You, NPD313, how many
did you open?

NPD313: A hundred and fifty.

TEACHER: That's ten percent half over again, which
makes fifteen percent. Sosgemini, how many did you
open?

SOSGEMINI: Two.

TEACHER: That's easy. Two hundred is twice one
hundred . . .

SOSGEMINI: Not two hundred. Just two.

TEACHER: Two? What do you mean you only opened two?

SOSGEMINI: I don't care very much for 3121.

TEACHER: Well I can't figure out just two, so let's
pretend you opened two hundred. Now, if you opened two
hundred 3121 albums, apart from being dreadfully sad, you'd
have used up twenty percent of one thousand, which is
fifteen percent half over again, ten percent--

Look at my signature before you start wasting all sorts of money looking for a ticket. The odds are WAY against you.

This is the story the world over, plenty of shops in the UK have them not shrink-wrapped. i hear there's only one ticket in europe anyway, but it'd be a shame if a non fan got his grubby thieving paws on it.

Maybe they should have printed a code in the booklet and then drawn a lottery type thing, or just revealed the winning codes on the 3121 website on a specific date. shrug

On a serious note to anyone who is planning on opening CDs to check...that is the same as actually taking the CDs if the store wishes to pursue charges. (Altering of packaging is a form of "shoplifting"...and the Best Buy I used to work at would definitely pursue shoplifting charges if they caught someone opening CDs.)
"3123...that's next door to where the party be..."
