Discuss the 3121 packaging (and only the packaging) Today was my first look at it all (other than the cover). In general, I think it's very nice, although slightly too reminiscent of the Emancipation booklet - it would be nice to see packaging that doesn't remind me of another of his releases. It would be great to see someone other than Sam Jennings design a booklet once in a while.
Incidentally, anyone else notice that on the booklet cover, the left door is just slightly open. It's probably supposed to be inviting, like 'come on in', but to my eye it looks messy, since everything else in the house is so manicured. Kind of nice that, other than the digipak cover, Prince himself is nowhere to be found. The digipak back cover is nice, and I like the spine (seems really pedantic to comment on that, but hey, this is the part I see all the time in my CD collection...). | |
