Black Sweat and Fury are so much better than anything else on it, the rest seems kind ehh.

I'm disappointed with it because it's so damn good I keep having to play it over and over and I can't get anything else done! Damn that Prince!

Not thrilled with the album myself ... but still intrigued with the project in whole as what is still to come. That can't be all there is to it. Just the album that is.

I'm ma bit underwhelmed.! I was afraid after reading the Entertainment Weekly review which only gave it a C+ grade. Dated, old man beats, call on Andre3000 or Quest Love to infuse more current beats or remix is the gist of the review. IMHO I have to say I' agree. I love whatever he does and after a few more listens it will reveal some of his usual subtlties but out side of Beautiful,loved and Blessed,Fury ,Black Sweat( Kiss re-worked) and incense and candles. we've heard it before. And isn't Camille dead? The distorted voices is so cliche for him even I'm getting tired of it!!

True the bar is much higher for him,but the genius of his live performances are now too often scrubbed down in the studio, and I think he needs to work with some other skilled writers/musicians to get his mojo going. Left to his own devices, he doesn't stretch himself!!

"Somewhat disappointed" is an apt description for my sentiments over the album. I just find it very boring on the whole, even if the songs are quite well-written.

Makes me sad thinking he most probably made a few interesting lps the past few years and won't ever release them...
