Hey! He hit the mic with his mouth! I saw him do that many times. Maybe he's colorblind? who knows...

Or maybe the spot lights are very bright and gets in his eyes. With all the moving around he does, it easy to understand that he would have some problems with depth perception if there is a huge light shining on his face.
You know how it is when someone takes your picture and you can't see? Well imagine that feeling while being on stage peforming. I'm sure you'd hit the mic a few times too. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hitting himself with the mic is kind of common with Prince.
He has also gotten his sleeves tangled with the mic, dropped mic stands, fallen down onstage, and crashed into onstage scenery. No biggie. He just makes adjustments and carries on

Also remember the first Arsenio he did, when he almost smashed his fingers with the piano. It was very close!

Don't forget how often he gets those long chains he wears tangled with his guitar. At a jam at Paisley once he actually broke a symbol necklace because it was so tangled in with his guitar.

It sounds like some sort of depth perception problem perhaps.
Does anyone know if the glasses he sometimes wears are necessary or cosmetic? He may be nearsighted or farsighted. Not that it matters, because we know he is INSIGHTED! LOL! "Love is God, God is love, girls and boys love God above!"

Damn, how EASILY you label it a "problem"??? Consider the sheer number of performances this man has given throughout his LIFE - I can't even guess how many thousands. These fall perfectly within the realm of the "occasional mishap" - NOT a "problem." SHEESH...

I have been hit in the face with microphones many times when I have been rocking out live... it happens to everyone at times. You don't really worry about stuff like that when you are laying down the ROCK LAW to the masses. I nearly broke my right ankle once when I landed a bit funny after leaping around the stage like a completely deranged idiot at a showcase for MCA... I didn't fall down, but I couldn't move for the rest of the show. I have had my guitar strap break and my guitar nearly fell to the stage floor before, I had to make due until the song ended. I have unplugged my guitar in the middle of songs on a few occassions.
There is nothing unusual about this stuff at all and Prince is not defective in any way because he has been popped in the beak with a microphone or two. SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com

Broken guitar straps, gettin' hit in the face with the mic, fallin' onstage (and offstage), forgettin' or changin' lyrics and many other things are part of the show. Think about it, how many times he broke his pants doin' a split? I also remember the Sheila E. Romance 1600 Live video, when he threw the jacket directly into Wendy's guitar. Nobody's perfect, shit happens!

Prince having NO problems in your preverbial book is probably a less discerning comment to make compared to your previous one about him not being able to see very well... I am not "having a go" I swear.

On another thread you call me "Oceander" or something and on this one I think you're trying to insult me, but it doesn't make any sense to me, so I'm not going to get into it with you. I don't know why you have a problem with me. I have never said one bad word to you. I guess it is to be expected, this site does have a few bullies. You'll outgrow it someday. I believe the word you were looking for is "proverbial" though, and not preverbial. "Love is God, God is love, girls and boys love God above!"

I was merely attempting to stir up some fuss, but it obviously did not work. I have absolutely no problem with you what-so-ever, I believe you are a fine and sincere person. But I was a little concerned with someone (or anyone for that matter) saying that Prince has NO problems in their proverbial() book. Prince puts a foot wrong in practically all of his endeavours and seems to attractive negative feedback with even the most hard-core of fans. That is not to say I do not respect and greatly admire him. I just found your comment odd. And just one last thing, there is nothing I need to grow out of. Good day ma'am. :0 (salute)

LOL. Very Spinal Tap, indeed. I once had just written new lyrics to a song (okay, I confess I even hadn't written the lyrics at all 20 minutes prior to the show) and I had the words written on separate sheets that were lying on a stage monitor. Well, I don't know how exactly they ended up spread all over the stage eventually must have been a wind or something. So during the performance I was picking up the papers from wherever I could find them. And sure I've smashed myself a couple of times too. Altough it was all intentional.
