Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I've got everything on CD, why'd I need 2 put it on my comp.

The only CD I have on my computer is Ice cream castles from the Time cuz I'm having a hard time finding the CD.

the reason i do is because less chance of scratching them. easier access. if you have good computer speakers, an iPod, and decent headphones... well, i just don't see the point in having CDs at all anymore (other than for backup purposes)

but maybe that's just me smile

Yeah, all the P stuff on my computer would go into suomynona's last folder. I don't keep my CDs in my computer. [Well, they're on my iPod too...]
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

I got 30G of mp3 Prince stuff and 147G of video. I got most of it on discs as well, but the computer is nice to make mixes and stuff.

While I have everything on CD, the CD's are very hard to fit into my iPod, especially given the hole in the bottom is only about an inch and a half long and a fifth of an inch wide...

How geeky! I'll play! geek

I haven't got any bootlegs on the PC because I can't be bothered to rip them all, just a few out-takes here and there I can't live without having at hand with the rest of the stuff. smile

I'm hot for all the related artists stuff, so I have most of that on there too, either ripped from CD or vinyl.

RE: Why people have this stuff on their PC instead of just using CD - It's for convenience and it means you can make tracklists and such, and don't have to change the CD every 70 or so minutes wink

It's not just you. Took someone stealing about 100 CD's from me in one shot(damn booklets) to get religion about digital music. Between the ipod and the computer hooked up to a nice 5.1 surround sound system, the CD's are gathering alot of dust.

the mistake i made was not backing up what i had on my last ipod... and then it died on me and i had to rip a lot of stuff i didn't have on my computer.

now i have... well... a lot of music on my computer lol

what bit rate you ripping at? I can easily see if you're doing loseless, 320, or even 256, but if you are doing much lower then that, then you must have quite the extensive non-official collection....

umm, it's probably a good mix... Generally 192/variable on up to Apple Lossless, depending on the original source and how long ago I did the rip. I'm currently sitting at 2,244 tracks / 7 days & 17 hours of playback.

I just looked and my entire iTunes library has 7002 tracks to last me 21 days and 7 hours! I can't believe I've got that much in there. hehe
