Except for LPs, which will last forever, as long as you take care of them . Jeff I think LPs slightly degenerate every time you play them... My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

I am knowledgeable about some things but to lazy to explore others. My proper storage is a bookcase in my walk in closet. However, if I were go guess. It would be a dry place that doesn't fluxuate in tempatrue over 10 degrees over several days. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

There's probably some truth in that. Still, if I play my original Sign O The Times LP (for example) back to back with the original CD, I'll still prefer the sound of the LP, after years of play. The key (in my opinion), is to take good care of your turntable & LPs. Just my 2 cents. My apologies if this is slightly off topic! Jeff www.jeffreyanderson.blogspot.com

the first ten years or so after it was released, i went through lots of copies of the 'purple rain' album - i know i've been through 2 copies each of CD and vinyl, and i can't even count how many tapes i went through (though at least i was smart enough to MAKE tapes after i wore out my first store bought cassette copy. all those old classic WB CDs feel really delicate to me - the quality is so cheesy. now that i have mp3s, i try not to handle them much unless i have to.

Sadly, no. It's starting to be a nasty problem for many poorly produced DVD-18s (double-sided, dual-layered discs). All such discs appear to be susceptible to some degree of rot; yet another advantage of purely digital storage mediums...long live the MP3!!! So in other words, those DualDisc cds will rot soon?
