Why is Celebration every year around his birthday?

Since he does not want to "celebrate" or even acknowledge his birthdays, why is the Paisley Park Celebration so conveniently around June 7th?

Heavenly this person is wondering why because JW do not celebrate birthdays. I just dont see why it would matter when or why just another thread about Prince personal life and why he does the things he does. Personally I think it is done in june for tradional reasons this way everybody has an idea when it will be and can save money and save vacation time. Kinda just letting us know in advance " HEY guys next june dont forget", plus kids are out for summer and parent dont have to worry about not being able to attend because of children school. I am sure there are a number of reasons why.

Two things:

1.) Based on your presumption in the way the question is presented, only Prince himself can answer that question.

2.) Who cares? It's not like he's bringing out a cake and singing Happy Birthday.

Tom

It falls in the middle of summer. alot of events happen then. I mean we could also raise the question "Why does he hold his celebration at the same time Gay Pride is going on?"

ive often wondered about the "Celebration" myself...Since I didnt attend, I can only go on reports, however the whole concept of the Celebration (from a JW) is suspect to me. I know that my family members who are brothers and sisters go out of their way *not* to look as if they are celebrating birthdays and other pagean events...And while Prince doesnt come out and call it a birthday celebration one would think he would move the timeperiod as to not lead for misinterpetation...

ive asked my grandmother about a lot of what Prince does, she has been very non-bias and a bit dissapointed at some of the things he has done...No disrespect to the Prince fans here who are Jehovah Witnesses but they tend to defend a lot of what Larry Graham and Prince do..My grandmother on the other hand tells it like it is...And while she is happy that Prince has found *the truth*, she is rather concerned about his and Larry's overzealous enthusiasm..
