That was nice. Thanks.
Is there more like that?

Does Princehave an all acoustic CD?
If he doesn't, he should.

All that stuff we've said about letting him do his own thing...let's forget that.

Time to go acoustic!

The Truth is the nearest thing to an all accoustic CD.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

Anyone else noticed how he messed up the lyrics to Cream??

He sang "it's your time, ur filthy cute and baby u know it" a second time when the lyric's supposed to be "u're so fine, ur filthy cute and baby u know it"

and then he messes up again by singing "break the rules, break all the rules coz u are the best" instead of "make the rules, then break them all coz u are the best."

Of course, he's got a great way of covering his tracks and ti didn't seem obvious but a Prince freak would notice, didn't you??

And he also messed up by singing in Sometimes It Snows in April-- sometimes I wish that "life was everlasting", instead of singing "life was never ending"...

I don't blame him though, I'd forget as well if I've written hundreds of songs...

It wasn't a guitar it was an Erhu.

I remember watching this on vh1 right before the RRHOF Induction. It was on BET and MTV, too. I think I remember reading something that said that all three channels showing the same show/special was unprecedented. biggrin

That's just semantics.
It was the same half-hour special "The Art of Musicology"

Suposidly with diffrent Interviews. Although, I have never seen a diffrent interview then the one I viewed on VH1.

also, if you could spare the snippy response this time, could you share a little bit about what an erhu is? it looked to me like it had six frets but only four strings.

there are 6 turning nuts at the head of the guitar...it's a guitar. Its also the poor quality of the video which makes the bottom (thinnest strings) disappear. When Prince leans back, you can make uot the strings as they reflect the light..just before he goes into the chorus of "I couldnt take the place of your man" for the first time, you can see the two bottom strings

THANK YOU. hug

that first shot of the guitar looked like there were only four strings, but i figured it was just the video quality doubled with the fact that those two strings are so thin to begin with. but with prince, you never know when he's trying to spring something cute on us. smile

It just the first instrument I could think of with hardly any strings. It has two.

And my apologies to you...thought you said the quality (of the performance). were as if 2 strings were missing. I should read more carefully and perhaps sleep a bit more too.
