It's my fav with 3121!!! the kinda song that gives you goosbumps on the same vein as "The love We Make" or others...

I also like the popish studio version of "Fury" and actually I dig it more and more. This song builds up to a crescendo with guitars getting louder and louder.

I think it's a very good track. reminds me most of "7"
with it's spiritual vibe and the strutting beat.

Just throw a sytar in there and you've got another "7"

This is my favorite track on the album.

That sax riff...like nothing he's done before, yet so him...

The combination of musical elements--funky drum, acoustic guitar, spacey keys, solo sax, spiritual lyric, laid back vocals = one of my favorite Prince songs of all time.

It's dreamy, and that electric guitar at the end--the perfect tone, incredible chops...

Thank you for this song Prince. This is the you I dig best.

definitely my favorite off the record. as for it being preachy...its about as preachy as the cross, anna stesia, or 7. a lot of times i don't think it's prince who's caught up in his religious beliefs, i think his fans are.

yeah, exactly, it's not that preachy at all. in fact, i quite
like the message of this song.

it's more a message of getting off your ass and doing something
with your life stead of wasting it lying around doing nothing -
well to me anyway.

Its a fantastic tune!! 3121 is my current 'fave'

Ive noticed that some comments on here are saying hes copying styles/losing his edge/tired etc

Im struggling to understand these comments as I think this album is great - hes nearly 50 now - hes not going to make music like he did say 30 years ago? his music suits him perfectly - this album is the best hes done in a while -

It's a bit boring in the long run to be honest. Prince can't do chic-bar / clothes store DJ set - music as convincly as other people who do chic-bar / clothes store DJ set - music on a regular basis. I'm not sure about the melody either now that I've listened to the zillionth time, the verses seem quite rudimentary.

I cannot wait to hear this song since your list is pretty much the same list I would compile of favorite Prince tracks. I would just swap the One with She's always in my Hair

"The Word" is "Shy" coupled with the acoustic "Space" for an evening rendezvous in Prince's Lovesexy T-Bird. City lights painting patterns on the shiny finish, dog in the back sucking the life from the cracked rear, front passengers feeling the groove in slow motion; no need for words.
