Another note for those who are waiting. This album is a grower. I liked ti the first time I heard it but the more I played it the more I enjoyed it and now I love it. Be patient, even if it doesn't hit you at first. Many here have had a change of heart with this CD.
Oh, don't look for anything "ground-breaking". You will set yourself up for disappointment, unless you're a glutton for punishment. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

Usually, from my experience, his best albums are the ones that grow on u....
If you like it right off the bat , it probably is good, but not his most exceptional work....it takes time to take it all in.. Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!

I think its like that with all artists - Ive never liked ANY album much when Ive first heard it - Kanae West did that to me on his recent album - hated it at first -now I love it. everything new needs time to grow on us.,.

I have been waiting for prince to come out with a clearly writen statement, well clearly writen as to understanding consciousness, unlike this cyriptic past statements, but, maybe I only fight against my own powers of inturpetation. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop. | |

take it from your music loving uncle jony Uncle, I'm hearing it for the 2nd time as I write this, and love is far too strong a word. Let's say "Don't hate it", and see if this thing grows at all. But I'll say this.... 1) For the greatest guitar player on the planet, one would think Prince considers himself the greatest drum machine programmer, considering how much we must endure the latter and how little we can enjoy the former and 2) Prince barely can be bothered to sing anymore (he just speaks most of the lyrics) , or come up with a decent melody. There's a reason TAC and BL&B were released in advance...they're downright hummable compared to most of the stuff on 3121. | |
