The Grand Progression & Poor Little Bastard

i just heard these two songs and i am baffled why they never
made it on an album. both of these songs are great. were
they ever intended for an album?

I believe both are from Graffiti Bridge sessions

I believe that "Poor Little Bastard" was redone to become "Damn U."

"Grand Progression" was a Graffiti Bridge outtake.

"Poor Little Bastard" is indeed very similiar to "Damn U", altough it was originally intended for that "I'll Do Anything" -soundtrack (whatever that was). "The Grand Progression" got replaced by "Still Would Stand All Time" at the very last minute, which I find rather odd because that song had existed arguably much longer than "Grand Progression" according to ehm, my "sources".

I'll do anything was a movie starring Nick Nolte about a struggling actor or something. It was originally intended to be a musical with prince doing the soundtrack but after horrible reviews they decided to make it just a normal movie without the prince music. I think these are the songs cut off:

the rest of my life
make believe
i'll do anything
empty room
poor little bastard
be my mirror
i can't love you anymore
don't talk to strangers
wow (w/ cast?) 2 versions

Overall if it woulda been released it would be an average album and who knows where prince's career would go if he did release it.

The "I'll Do Anything" tracks can also be found on the "Platinum" bootleg.

A musical with NICK NOLTE!?! Now, I'm not surprised the project got cancelled.

would'n it be cool, as P doesn't cuss no more, a box set songs with "dirty" lyrics uncensored with Wonderful Ass, Poor Little Bastard etc, & he could give the money to a charitable association.
