Do-It-Yourself Camille Album So I'm in the process of putting together my own homemade Camille album. I got hold of a bootleg copy of "Rebirth of the Flesh" and managed to clean it up using software I bought for burning records to CD. I also used the same software to record the extended version of "Shockadelica" off of my "If I Was Your Girlfriend" 12" single. Then using the following guide that someone posted on alt.music.prince waaaay back in the day I imported the rest of the songs from CD and put it all together like so...
1. Rebirth Of The Flesh (Unreleased) 2. Hosuequake (Same as the SOTT version) 3. Strange Relationship (Same as the SOTT version) 4. Feel U Up (Same as the "Long Stroke" from the 3" "Partyman CD single.) 5. Shockadelica (Same as the extended version from the "If I Was Your Girlfriend" maxi-single.) 6. Good Love (Same as the Bright Lights Big City version) 7. If I Was Your Girlfriend (Same as the SOTT version except that the wedding intro isn't included.) 8. Rockhard In A Funky Place (Same as the Black Album version) Being a graphic designer by trade (and borderline obsessive compulsive by birth) I'm also doing the artwork for the jewel case. My goal here is to make it look as authentic as possible with copyright info, bar code, everything. So here's my question...I keep reading that Warner Bros. had gone so far as to assign the Camille album a catalog number but I can't find anything that tells me what that number is. Does anyone know? Also, I always wondered if those test pressings of the Camille album were just white-label or did Prince actually submit artwork? BTW...this whole project is strictly for my own twisted sense of amusement. I am not making/selling boots.

I don't know about the barcode number, but I do remember reading somewhere that the original album cover was supposed to have a hand drawn stick figure with X's for the eyes. I'd also keep the colour scheme as much peach and black as possible like the 12" singles attributed to Camille. Just my suggestions Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

Was Good Love actually ever considered to be a Camille track? Im not too sure if it was. (dodgyspellingofCamilleEdit) [Edited 3/13/06 23:13pm] Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

BTW, the version of Good Love on Camille is the version from CB, not Bright Lights Big City (I love that movie! )
And even though it's apprently not official, I've always loved that cover above.

If I made me a Camille compilation, I would put 'La la la, he he he' on there, as a bonus maybe. I know it's not a Camille track really, but it fits perfectly.

I'd also stick extended scarlet pussy and u got the look on as bonus tracks seen as thugh theyre atrributed to camille.

I always used to think that the CB version was just an abbreviated/edited version of the soundtrack version . I will give both a closer listen today....never noticed a difference except for the edit. Does anyone know? I got this from this site a little while ago: catalog #9-25522-1 with the release date of January 13, 1987.

Aaah, now I get it...you´re talking about the "original" Crystal Ball, right? , Not the NPG release from ´98. Now it makes sense, I completely forgot about that one...I didn´t know that Good Love was part of the planned 3-LP-original-Crystal Ball in 86/87. Hi. This is my first post here.
So I was wondering, is that cover that IstenSzek posted the actual cover art to the unreleased 'Camille' album, or fan-created art? I've also just compiled the album (found a 'Rebirth...' boot online, yay!), and I'd like to stick that pic with it in my iTunes, but only if it's the real thing. God, I'm so anal, it's ridiculous. Oh, and off-topic, but seeing as it's my first post, I just have to say this: I LOVE 3121!

Ponders back to the times when Prince was able to write decent lyrics, lyrics even that were thoughtprovoking and made you think Prince was a man with a mind, heart and soul

Thanks for your input!
Here's what I threw together. It's basically just a reworking of the cover from the "Sign o' the Times" 12" single but it kinda fits.

There is a longer version than the "Bright Lights" one. And I had it on tape circa 1989, so part 2 has NOT been added in 98. Some has been cut out after the last "cool" of the last chorus. Is there a Prince historian even crazier than both of us to confirm this crucial point ? And why does Prince always sound so bad on CD and so good on vynil ? Where's the topic about that ?
