Songsof other artists that Prince covered (live or on album)

I wanna make a list for a playlist on my Windows Media Player.

Help me out here;

On album;

One Of Us by Joan Osborne
La-La Means I Love You by The Delfonics
A Case of You by Joni Mitchell
Red House [Purple House] by Jimi Hendrix
I Can't Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt
Betcha by Golly, Wow by The Stylistics
Brick House by The Commodores (on Mayte's album)

Live;

Love Rollercoaster and Skin Tight by The Ohio Players
Skin Tight
Bustin' Loose by Chuck Brown
Just My Imagination by The Temptations
Now's The Time by Charlie Parker
Brick House by The Commodores
Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin

And now I am empty. Don't have The Vault near. Help me out here

PS I am not really looking for the small medley stuff he does live, like Instant Funk's Got My Mind Made Up he played in the 94 period as intro to another aftershow jam, but if you know them, post them too...

Red House?? - Which album was that on?

As for live, there must be hundreds. The ones I immediately think of are all the Sly and Family Stone covers including Thankyou (Fallettinme Be Mice Elf Agin), Thank you for Talkin to Me Africa, Sing a Simple Song, Everyday People, You Can Make It If You Try, Babies Makin' Babies plus others no doubt. Also:

Graham Central Station - Hair, Free, I Believe In U
James Brown - Sex machine, Cold Sweat
Erykah Badu - Didn't Cha Know
Hendrix - Villanova Junction, Red House + Purple House, Voodoo Chile
Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Proud Mary
Salt N'Pepa - None of Your Business
Tower of Power - What Is Hip?

Don't know the artists of the following, but he has done these too...

Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin on, (Sometimes I Feel Like A) Motherless Child, How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?

Whole Lotta Love (Live) - Led Zeppelin
Every Day is a Winding Road (studio) - Sheryl Crow
Miss You (Live) - The Rolling Stones

Do we count the current Tamar tour? There are tons of covers there, notably "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough" and "What Have You Done For Me Lately".

He's done snippets of hundreds of songs live, ranging from "Born in the USA" to "Crazy in Love".

True. But I rather have the REAL songs, not medley'd into oblivion or short snippets that he uses to get from one song to another.

For instance, that beautiful version he did on Just My Imagination in 1988 aftershows... wow. Can't get enough of those!

First of all, thanks for that list! Good one!

And to answer your question; Prince did a studio version of this song that was released on Power of Soul: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Of course, aptly titled Purple House, the track spans 3:37. Now I am listening to it, it might also be an edited live version. It's got that feel.
