Prince biting Andre 3000, Michael Jackson, Neptunes, Sade: Lolita, Love, Te Amo First it was Prince biting Neptunes with Black Sweat
Then he was bitting Sade with Te Amo Corazon and now he is biting Andre 3000 with Lolita, a song that was clearly influenced by Hey Ya, all they way down to the chessy call and response, and he even says caddy the same exact way Andre does oh and then jacks MJ's entire style on Love It's like each year this guy loses his genius label with each release

If that's the case, Prince's has bitten off almost every rapper that's got a Cadillac. Ooh, little darlin' if you're

Too bad Prince couldn't do more than just say Caddy like Andre; say had he been able to write a pop song as definitive as Hey Ya, or even gotten in the same ballpark. No hard feelings.

Better ask this guy: 2) Prince copies Andre 3000's call and response? 3) Love = MJ? Yeah, I can hear that... and it's a good thing... it's evidence that the song has a great melody.

Its not biting if you invented the style in the first place. You might as well accuse Stephen King for biting himself when does a screenplay for a movie of book he already wrote. Just doesn't make sense to say that. THE CARDINAL HAS SPOKEN!!!

Prince has been biting from day one.
When he lacks style in his own way, he bites. He stated on Musicology Cd he peep Andre 3000. Then with TRC, he was biting Dangelo. Prince has been a constant biter the last 10 years. He should have stuck to that NPS sound, at least that was some orginal hot garbage.

Prince is emulating the people who emulate him. [Edited 3/9/06 19:58pm] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

[Edited 3/9/06 19:58pm] Prince lacks musical confidence. His songs are really lacking emotion, drive and desire. We need more songs like The Dance, and less of Prince trying to be a hip 50 year old by biting people that bite him. He even bite lil jon with those damn synths.

Nearly a month later, the troll opened up its mouth to show everyone its uneducated thoughts and to speak it's ignorant words. Predictably, in the wake of 3121 only an echo of stupidity is all that remains. Silly troll, just because you are purple that doesn't make you cool. [Edited 3/9/06 21:18pm] "New Power slide...."

Does whoever posted this think that music began only 5 years ago? This post doesn't deserved to be dignified by a response, but screw it. Neptunes got their shit from PRince. Prince has been doing call and response since he started, and call and response starting in freaking Africa hundreds of years ago. Andre didn't invent it. Sade? You gotta be kidding. The song is a Cha Cha, ever heard of it, a rythmn that's been around about 50 years. Please do your homework before you criticize an artist who has more originality in his pinky than the neptunes will ever have.

PREACH!!!!! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Is this thread about cannibalism? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Better ask this guy: - Wow...as a brazilian and Jobim fan, I am glad you pointed it. In fact, I was very happy when I heard TAC because the drum pattern is brazilian, not cuban. It´s reminiscent of bossa nova. Maybe Renato introduced him to this style

But I dont see this thread as ´trolling´....
I think that he is trying to say that Prince is following trends instead of creating them. But on the other hand, Prince is being bited too (Hey Ya has so many Prince elements), so I see it more as a trade.

Maybe Renato introduced him to this style Yeah, I'm a big fan of his too, but I just don't, thankfully, hear any Jobim (and hardly any bossa nova) in TAC! I'd be afraid that he'd try to venture into the bossa nova genre and completely suck in it. Leave it to those who do it right is what I say (at least for Jobim's songs and bossa nova in general)!

He wishes he could make something (these days, anyway) as hot as Sade can. I'm curious, what Sade song do you think TAC sounds like?
