Never met Prince, But I'd like to have a drink and a good long talk with him sometime. He seems like he'd make for an interesting conversationalist; intelligent, but just loony enough not to be boring.
A buddy of mine claims to have met him a few years back in Anaheim. He was in line for something, and saw the Purple Wonder walk past. He left the lineup to go say howdy. He says Prince is a pretty nice guy, but "had on twice as much makeup as the chick he was with". No surprises there. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Again, I'm just curious; as to whether or not we all eat the same food, every moment, everyday of every waking step we take?
Because, if we do:then I guess, we all are just in this ride for the stop sign. Just like we all have moods and various situations, so does Prince Rogers Nelson. Ya can't chastise another, if we all are likeness of one another. If the criteria is being face-to-face, then yes, albeit very briefly. I had a front-row seat in this weird section of just four seats at one of the Musicology shows. At the end of the show, instead of using his private staircase in the middle of the stage to go "backstage" (under the stage), he came down one of the side staircases, approached the four of us, shook our hands, and then promptly disappeared under the stage. Neither of us said anything -- he just took both of my hands in his and squeezed them gently. In retrospect, I really don't have anything to say to him unless we're going to have a substantive conversation. I'm sure he's heard stuff like, "Thanks for the music" a million times. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

Been in the same room with Prince, with him about five feet away from me at the 'Clique' Night Club, London in 2002.
The afterparty venue had to be changed so hardly any fans were there at the club, maybe between 30-50. He was up on the DJ stand with Dudley and John Blackwell and all of a sudden these girls tried to clamber over the plexiglass. I turned and looked at them the same time as him and when I looked back he gave me (I'm 99.9% sure it was me) that 'WTF!' look. I was pretty pleased with that. Thought it was kinda cool. As he left the club and walked through the crowd with his bodyguards my wife seriously lost her cool, ran up and stroked his arm up and down. He just laughed. The bodyguards seemed to be looking out for the big, burly guys and took no notice of my wife who is about 5 ft tall and looks about as harmless as a newt. After she had stroked him my wife thrust her hand into the air and shouted 'I've TOUCHED him!', 'I've TOUCHED him'. I could have died. Peace Mr7

I swear this is true.... I kinda lost a little respect for her for that...
Friggin' groupies... I would service him ON stage I would service him on tv I would service him in a tree I would service him on an escalator I would service him in an elevator I would service him on a plane I would service him on a train I would service him in the rain I would service him in a car I would service him on a bar I would service him standing on my head I would service him laying in his bed or mine I would service him in a storm anything to keep him warm and in my mouth Damn, I wish all that could fit all that for my signature.

Well...tell us about it! The intial meeting was so long ago...I was 14 years old. Since then I've been in the same room with him NUMEROUS times, but he doesn't talk to me. I don't think he really cares for me much I'm too outspoken for him. And I kinda pissed him off last year...oh well. I'm sure I'll see him again soon. Maybe he'll talk to me this time (not holding my breath) -T I AM BEATLOAF

At the end of the Fonky bald heads set at Paisley one Friday night ,some one in the band played a bass solo that shook the room. I said what bass! P was standing next to me and he said Slammin. Does that count as meeting him ? It was cool. paisleyyard
