How can someone live like that?
I believe he´s honest in his music - that´s why it is so powerful. As for him as a person,I am not sure, but the only time I saw him, he seemed very modest, shy and nice. Hard to say. What about Prince always being Prince seems fake to you? That's a quality that I've always admired about him, that he's always "on". He's aware of his place in the world, how he's perceived, and what he needs to do to get what he wants accomplished. I've asked the question "How can someone live like that?" too, but when I ask it, it's in a kind of admiration of his discipline and dedication. |

I think he's a bit of both.
I think he WANTS to be a good/genuine person. But I think he is a sarcastic/dry person, who can't help but sit back and laugh at all us "commoners", ya know? | |

Obviously, there is another side that the public doesn't see too much, which you sometimes get glimpses at when listening or watching rehearsals (I know, shame on me). Here he is more down to earth and practical, funny and still very disciplined. When the mask of "Prince" comes off, we get a glimpse of someone else. The surprising thing is that there is no revelation of who he really is. He's still the same guy, but someone who's more free to crack a joke, or get pissed (I should note, I mean the US definition of the word, not the UK), just like anyone else. |
