So, I go to Best Buy on 3/14/06 to pick up a couple of things and also check on the Ultimate CD. No Ultimate in the Prince section but amongst a ton of Purple Rains, Rainbow Children, Musicology, etc. I find the 6-song maxi-single from 1990 called Prince - New Power Generation.

The tracklist is:
1 - NPG (Funky Weapon Remix)
2 - TC's Rap (Featuring TC Ellis)
3 - Brother With A Purpose
4 - Get Off
5 - The Lubricated Lady
6 - Loveleft, Loveright

I've never seen Best Buy have things like this before. Is this a common disc? I don't seem to remember it. But, I was pretty drunk for most of the late 80's and early 90's. Ah, college...good times.

I'm about to listen to it right now. What are people's opinions of this disc.

Okay I just listened to it. Man, it's so nice to hear Tony and TC again. Maybe that's what is missing from Prince's music lately. Please note...that is sarcasm!

I like Loveleft, Loveright. Nice little surprise addition to the collection.

I bought it at musicland like 15 years ago. I'm suprised that best buy had it.

Yeah, the song New Power Generation was released as a single, and this is the maxi single of it. Wasn't it recorded one weekend in London? When they were on the Nude tour?

I always figured the extra 't' in D&P's Gett Off was because Prince had to differentiate it from the Get Off on this single.

i got this on cassingle when it first came out then found it for cheep used on CD a year or two ago...i don't know if it's one of his best maxisingles, but i think it's one of his most interesting, mainly because i have no idea what he's on about.

I eventually threw that one in the garbage because it was funking up my Prince collection. Unfortunately the crap didn't stop there: Horny Pony, and then the worst - I Love U In Me!!

The era of the Awesome Prince B-Side was over and I had to accept it. I stopped buying them around that time.

I was so dumb that I bought it thinking that it had "Gett Off" on it and Diamonds and pearls hadn't come out yet. Instead it was that weakass "Get off." Bad Prince era, the Graffti Bridge looking Like Jesus look.

Yes. I got this from Best Buy. I was the only copy. A month later I saw they restocked it with another copy.

I went there searching for Ultimate too and found 94 East Minneapolis. Should I go back and buy it?
