I think it´s one of the shittiest Prince songs ever.... It´s embarrassing...I always skip it because I don´t want my neighbors associate me with that kind of music, it is that embarrassing. Lolita is a chirpy happy song much like Good Love.
I think the Lolita/sweeter/cheater rhyme is pretty cheesy and Prince could have done better. Of course the name 'Lolita' doesn't have particularly good connotations because of the film of the same name about an obsession with a girl who is underage, though in Prince's song I take it to just mean some girl who is too young for him and is coming on to him, not the reverse. Apart from all that, I find myself quite enjoying the song. | |
