Would a major record label have released TRC? Do you think if Prince was signed to a major record label and gave then TRC to release that they would have done so, without asking for any changes?
I can't see it myself - perhaps back in the 80s/early 90s, but not in 2001. Also, do you think another major artist could/would have released such an album? U been bamboozled, hoodwinked, took.

2 things
# 1 - i don't think any major label would have stood behind that album, and i think that is the reason it wasn't on a major label, but we don't know how hard he tried for one either. # 2 - i don't think any other major artist would have wantted to release an album like trc. most artist today only care about the hit factor for their lifestyle, and face it, trc wouldn't have helped. noituloveR lautiripS weN a fo gninwaD eht si sihT

the reason major labels would have had a problem with releasing
The Rainbow Children is the exact same reason why today's music is so boring and why everything sounds like everything else. It is an incredible album and any label should have been proud to be behind such a product. alas, the world is run by a different mindset these days. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

1. Maybe not a major record label of pop, but certainly an important Jazz label (Blue Note or something).
2. I dont see another pop or funk or soul artist doing such an album "Todo está bien chévere" Stevie

I think Prince felt he had to do this album to express his faith, and knew a major label wouldn't touch it. I love the album. U been bamboozled, hoodwinked, took.
