And it's not Prince Kirpatrick, it's CHRIS Kirpatrick, as in the MTV guy who does, you know, MTV news and stuff. He's old, and annoying. But then, everything on MTV is pretty annoying...

Hey now... are you talking about Kurt Loder? I think he's fantastic and MTV doesn't deserve him. He's distinguished and is also a former Rolling Stone editor. I've read two lengthy Prince articles by him that were written back in the day, and the guy's got talent.. not to mention tact.

Just to clear up the confusion, it's Chris Kirkpatrick, and he's the ugly dude from NSYNC. You know, the one who used to have the braids. You don't see much of him because he's not as pretty as Justin or JC.

And the only reason I know this is because my younger sister used to be obsessed with him.

Hmm, maybe I was thinking of Kurt Loder. I just remember some dude talking not long ago about who all Eminem was making fun of on his new album...He spoke of a Chris Kirpatrick..whoever the hell THAT ends up being, and err, whoever was talking, must have been you know, someone else. But he said, "Unfortunately I am among them" or some shite. Who cares rolleyes It's just Eminem.

Okay Stop The Who Got What Beat From Where.

No Doubt's Hella Good Beat Goes Further Back Than Billy Jean - Its a lot more like Anita Wards -"Ring My Bell" including the little "Booo" sound.

Alot of those kind of beats used all over the place today came from 70's Disco Funk or Dance Beats.

F.Y.I. Erotic City Kicked Billy Jeans Ass!!!

I read in a no doubt interview they stole it from "Billie Jean" Good catch on the ring my bell electronic drum. Remember that band Luscious Jackson? Thye had a couple of songs in the mid 90's that were using the "new" No Doubt style. I think Luscious was just 10 years to early to revive the 70's-80's sound. Now Pink, No Doubt and Kelly Osbourne are having hits with the new wave sounds. SOunds good to me. Time for a remake of "Head!"

Ok, this is how I hear it: the song is about controversy and he saying since prince turn him into a symbol he (Eminem) is the new king of controversy. But just what I think. smile

And thank for explaining that sound, I was wondering since noting happens in the video at that sound.

Notice after the Prince line the chime sound. It's from the "symbol" album commercial. Dr Dre is cool.
