prince 's new album is going to number one on billboard. 3121 IS GOING TO NO.1 IN AMERICA...WANNA BET?
with the number one album in the us only selling just over 100,000 copies last week, i confidently predict the prince will have his fourth number one album with 3121 later this month.....musicology sold around 170,000 in its first week in the us and i see no reason why this wont do as well.....so who wants a bet ?

I wouldn't be too surprised.. Universal really seems to put some work in bringing this album to the spotlight

I hope so, but musicology was given away, 3121 will hav 2 stand on sales alone. "OOOH I can't hold it, OOOH it's gettin all ova me!"

What other CDs are being released that day? Let's hope there isn't some "hot" rapper with a new CD being released.

arg , Im tired of this mis -conception. Musicology SOLD 171,000 in stores the first week. 14,000 were given away at concerts for a total of 191,000 first week "sales" he -no . ge-lo , ne-hi or whatever sold 300,000 + this week . It all depends on the competetion

You really think so? Keep in mind that, these days, you only need to sell around 100,000 copies to debut at Number One.Even Barry Manilow was able to do that!

I think it will hit #1. Shit it better with all the bullshit that out and will be coming out, 3121 will be like a diamond in mud. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I've seen a couple of people say something similar, and it's very misleading. It's not as though selling 100,000 copies gets you a number one album; the weeks where albums like Barry Manilow's were on top with 100,000 were just slow weeks. If Prince had come out this week and sold 300,000 he still would have been number two behind Ne-Yo. So don't anybody think "100,000 copies" is some magical pass to number one. It all varies from week to week. That said, I don't think Prince will have any real competition on March 21st, depending on how Ne-Yo's album holds up. He has a decent shot at the top; we'll just have to wait and see.

i cant believe that some of you think it hasnt got a chance??...musicology sold....over the counter....not given away....over 170,000 copies in the first week in the us...if he gets similar sales with this release, and their is no reason why he wont coming off the back of the biggest grossing tour of the us in 2004....he will debut at number one on billboard....still want a bet y,all

Prince has at least 100,000 very loyal fans... except that half of them now have a leaked copy and may not be so anxious to get the CD the week it drops. Y'all got it pre-ordered, right? Funny how NPGMC just today offered a pre-order deal. What, are we supposed to pre-order yet another copy? Very clever way of selling more CDs before the first week. The numbers will be high. I'll be safe and say Top 5. If some of the big city DJs started playing the other songs, then it'd go higher.
