Love....i really dig that song smile

Me too! I think it's my favorite. That song is the damn jam!

a few thoughts...

3121-Love it

Lolitta - I really like the sound of this song for some reason. I know it's already pretty hated but I do like it lol

Black Sweat - Still think this is a fun track

Incense & Candles - I think he deliberately wrote this for the "urban" crowd. Could be big in that market. Not my favorite song here but I like it enough.

Love - The title says it all. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this track headbang

Satisfied - Never heard it until now but I really dig it big time. I know people have said "on the couch part 2 but I dug the hell out of On the couch lol

Fury - Face it yall, we were straight out spoiled by the SNL performance. This track really had the potential to be an ass kicker, like Endorphinmachine but really just falls short. Someone touted his lyrical performance on this song and it sounds completely boring and uninspired to me. I cannot for the life of me imagine how a song that has such life in a live setting fails to even come close to translating. The live version is just so tight and the CD version isn't even that. I will be replacing this with the SNL performance headbang

The Word - I really really like this song. Doesn't sound scary preachy to me. Just pretty heartfelt.

The Dance - I never heard this until now but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG!

Get on the Boat - Another Jam. This is a great song and if you're ever gonna do any kind of tribute to any musical legends, this is the way to do it nod

What a fantastic album. Light years above and beyond Musuckology. I'm so happy with it. Can't wait to find out if I get one of them purple tickets on the 21st woot!

THINKTIMM

I just heard the entire album and I think that I like it. I say that because I didn't know what to really what 2 expect. I did read all the reveiws that were posted, But being a life long Prince fan at times we all want the album that "we want". The next song that should come out should be Incense And Candles, after Black Sweat ends this track comes on and it begins a good run of about 3 to 4 songs. Incense And Candles, with a hot producer like who ever's hot in hip hop videos. I tell you this could be a really good year again for Prince. It's a good album I'm going to listen to it a few more times... but I think i really really like it!!!
THINKTIMM... if nothing else!!!

Insence and Candles, I can see how Lolita would be cool for radio also but I think I and C has an even stronger radio presence.

I just got 3121 and I just can't understand why Prince doesn't record the songs in more of a live setting. 'Fury' & 'Satisfied' sound 100 times better live or maybe it's better if we hear the songs on the Album b4 we get spoiled on them live. Was it just me or did the female voice on 'Incense And Candles' & 'Love' sound a lot like Janet Jackson??? headbang eyepop excited excited
Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave!

this really isn't a singles album... Love may be a little suble to be a single. I don't know about Fury.. Endorphine Machine really wouldn't have worked as a single, and i think Fury is similar. Lolita.. no.

I would actually go with 3121 next. I would love to hear an extended spacy 8 minute long remix. It's just different enough to maybe make a dent and stir up some interest.

i think Love should have been the debut single. it should definitely be the next single. it is THE groove! i would like to say he should release The Word as a single (this may be my favorite song on the record) but i'm afraid the "go get saved" bit would be a turn off. u2 got away with a hit song about faith with their Vertigo but it is a religious song in disguise so they were able to pull it off.

I feel like I'm the only one without candy.

I've only heard (Not counting Fury live) Te Amo Corazon (Couldn't get in a cab/car this weekend without hearing it), Black Sweat, and Beautiful, Loved & Blessed

I don't really do the church thing but my prediction is that BL&B becomes the church jam of the year. That's just a nice track all around. Could be a hot dance track too.

I guess I got a bit of candy afterall.

Great album, but i think the closest track to a hit should have been Black Sweat. (but it didn't).
Or maybe The Word, chatchy melody....

I think the expectations of this album are way to high. its all hyped up.
But still; A GREAT ALBUM.

I agree. If the radio stations didn't like like Black Sweat then I don't think any of the other singles will get the time of day. Black Sweat is the song that sounds most like popular music today. I do like Love a lot. I can't remember which one, but on one song his voice sounds like Cher in her song "Believe" disbelief. I'd rather have Prince's voice unaltered. It's great all by itself. It doesn't need any computer to alter it. JMO I will say that I'm not taking my first impression of the album too seriously. The quality of the sound wasn't that great. I'll wait until I actually have the CD blasting in my car to make a real assessment!

The midget has three choices....

"Fury" to rock/top 40

"Incense & Candles" to Pop/R&B

"Love" to top 40....

By the way folks, for some of you who are saying 3121 has no singles on this album, that has more to do with the way the youth obsessed radio conglomerates and MTV treat older, established acts....But if you are really paying attention to the charts today, you would know that "Incense & Candles" (for example) is what's happening in top 40...While rock music has been making a surge, R&B/hip-hop is still the new "pop"....It's just that a lot of you are not digging contempoary R&B, which is cool...We all like what we like....

The very 80s and out of date sounding lolita sounds like soft and wet, kelly's eyes and a little bit of dirty mind all mixed together. I think love could be a hit.

No I think it is just that there isn't a strong single on the album. If the songs are strong they will speak for theselves.

I don't think there is just some great secret we aren't in on.

So have you heard it? Weren't you complaining yesterday about the fact that people heard it early? lol

That said, I tend to agree, there is not a single on this album, albeit he constructed it with that sole intent, therein lies it's ultimate weakness as a whole and why it doesn't work as an album.

I'd guess his best chance for a pop single would be Lolita or Fury, though I can't imagine the target demographic bumping those songs.
Oh yes. I was complaining. I still hate that the album leaked. lol

I hated The Dance before. I love it now. biggrin

Just try and enjoy it without worrying where everything charts.
The charts are so corrupt it's not even funny.
Check out Tavis Smiley's show on 3/31/06. I think it mainly focuses on BET's programming, but I think it'll touch on the whole scam of radio programming and playlists.
Bottom line, Prince has been far too outspoken about radio and he's probably not gonna have another top-40 hit in his lifetime, at least not in this country. The CD will probably land near or at the top of the charts, but unless he does a remake of Laffy Taffy, which was part of a sting operation, I wouldn't hold my breath for a hit single.

Just heard The Word [From herein referred to as the Psyche! song]
It's so wrong to complain about stuff you're not even supposed to have heard especially when you haven't even paid for it yet but I feel justified with this song 'cause it doesn't play fair either.

Psyche! song is a really hot track. Very danceable. That's the problem...especially for a heathen like me. Gives you enough time to get out on the dance floor and do your thing before it hits you with "Don't you wanna go get saved"

So you're thinking "fine time to spring this on me". And it's too late to play it off cause you already did the booty shake.

Too bad the line wasn't "Don't you wanna dance with me" instead. As a spiritual metaphor, of course.

Maybe I should wait for the heathen remix.

Funnily enough I dont think any of the Tracks would be "Hits" here.

NOT because they are crap, I love the Album !! I really do, in fact this is the first album in some years that I have liked each and every track !! biggrin Yay to Prince.

Sadly though, unless Prince spewed up regurgitated (Hope I spelt that right) crap he would stand little or no chance of a Chart hit.
