I heard this rumor too about Prince moving to Canada. Not sure if it is true or not though.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I heard Prince, on the back of pony, was going to lead the Canadian army down into the U.S. and conquer a few of the northern states. Mani was going to sew some new flag back home.

It would be nice if Prince had a "secret thing" going on with me, but...

- I have never tried to contact Prince in any way.. not even a fan letter.
- I have never attempted to meet him.
- I have never made plans to attend the Celebration or visit Paisley Park.
- It took me over 20 years to get my lazy-shy ass to a Prince concert.
- I have never met any of Prince's associates, past or present.
- The name "Testolini" scares me to death - sounds like testicular pasta.
- I and Prince are different to the extreme -- almost like night and day.
- My only Prince agenda is to listen to as much of his output as possible.
- If I had a "secret thing" going on with Prince, I'd deny it with an unbulleted list.

It was a question for discussion so I have every right to pass judgment on it. You asked if you thought Prince was making Toronto his home base. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But there's little evidence to support your contention that he is. Given that the subject was up for discussion, I gave my thoughts by disputing your flimsy evidence.
My post was a legitimate topic for discussion.
No-one said it was illegitimate - it was just described as 'dumb'.
This site is full of crap posts, but my topic is branded "dumb?"
The topic per se wasn't 'dumb' - but the argument that accompanied the question you posed presented little to justify why you asked the question in the first place?
If my questions are "dumb" to you, do us both a favor and DO NOT respond to anything I may post from here on out.
I'll respond where I want, thank you.

You've got it all wrong.

Prince is actually moving to Melbourne, Australia. In fact, he's moving into the bungalow out the back of my house.

I dont know where he's going to set up his studio amongst my home brewing kit. I tell you what though, if the prick drinks my beer I'll quit his damn club in protest! evil

I think it is wonderful. him looking out for his wife by making a home where she will be happy and content being near family and friends while he is away on tours or helping other artist. PP will always be his home. I myself talking from a womans (a wifes) view think she would be more happy being with around family than at PP I would think it would be rather boring without my husband there.

NikkiDarling - I might offer a topic for discussion - or a piece of news - when I have something worth discussing. People can feel free to jump in and call the thread 'dumb' if they wish - not a problem to me.

Nor would it suggest to me that the person is an 'asshole' for calling the thread 'dumb' if they had argued their case cogently. In fact, if their argument was reasoned effectively, me calling them an 'asshole' would only suggest to them that I couldn't provide a rational counter argument and had resorted to irrational ad hominem attacks as a feeble last resort. Repeating the same or similar comments would only serve to undermine my credibility further.

You're trying awfully hard to impress somebody, but it's not working. Your input in this thread shows that not only are you an asshole, but you're a pretentious bore to boot.

This website has different types of posters. There are those who are creative, productive, and useful in starting worthwhile and interesting threads, and there are those who sit on their asses in front of a screen waiting for someone else to start the discussions so they can chime in with their dime store analysis.

You can step down off of your soapbox now. Your cheering section has left the thread, and your act doesn't seem to be generating any more applause from the peanut gallery.

NikkiDarling - sleep easy now that you have categorised all org posters and sealed me in my soapbox. I have responded to the argument you proposed by criticising it. I don't know you, and therefore I wouldn't even suggest you are an asshole, let alone presume to categorise.

No, but I nearly got married to one. I guess it's just the fact that you guys tend to overuse such linguistic gems as "holy shit!" and the ever so popular "ignorant"... and all that talk about "ontarios"... it's like "should we fly to Hungary and travel to that neighboring ontario by train from there?"

Just babbling of course...

$5,000,000 Canadian dollars equals cheap house for American.

Maybe Prince saw the 'Future Map of the World' and is preparing for the Great Flood.

A good thing, since I never say "holy shit" and rarely call anyone "ignorant" or "stupid". If there's something I can't stand, it's someone who does that often.

I'm a Quebecker anyhoo... I was raised not to think of myself as a Canadian.

Prince's new hometown is full of garbage:

Government ends Toronto workers strike in time to clean up for Pope visit
By MICHAEL KOVRIG
Associated Press Writer

TORONTO -- Cleanliness will come before godliness in Toronto.

Garbage collectors ordered back to work under emergency legislation began removing heaps of stinking trash Friday in an effort to clean up Canada's largest city before Pope John Paul II and thousands of his followers arrive for World Youth Day festivities later this month.

The 16-day strike by city workers, including 841 garbage collectors, left uncollected garbage -- in some areas piled more than six feet high and stretched for a city block -- to rot and stink in hot summer weather. It also closed swimming pools and daycare centers while reducing public health inspections to a minimum.

"Ooh, it's bad," said garbage collector Patty McDaniel, who was shoveling loose rubbish out of cans north of the city center. "There's flies, maggots..."

Her work partner, Gary Harris, said the street detail was reasonable, but he pitied those working on the big mounds left at designated collection sites during the strike.

"It's those big piles they sprayed with pesticide that I don't want to pick up," he said.

Citing a potential health threat, the Ontario provincial government ordered the 23,500 striking city employees back to work Thursday by approving a bill during an emergency session that calls for binding arbitration in the labor dispute.

Local politicians also worried that Toronto's image would suffer in the international spotlight if the mess remained on the streets when the pope, a few hundred thousand followers and thousands of journalists come for a week of World Youth Day activities that begin July 22.

"We'll be putting all our efforts into making sure the city is clean before that," Deputy Mayor Case Ootes said Thursday.

Toronto's garbage collectors, parks, recreation staff, day-care workers, water inspectors and ambulance dispatchers all were on strike. They wanted guarantees of job security if the city contracted out their work to private companies. Mayor Mel Lastman repeatedly refused their demands.

The bill, passed in one day at an emergency legislative session, gives the provincial labor minister the power to appoint an arbitrator.

"The workers are expected to go back shortly after midnight, and the streets will be cleaned in two or three days, while a full removal will take longer. ... Other municipal services should get back to normal by next week," Ootes said.
