Give me a break!? Did Prince actually call her "GRANDMA"?

I heard an "older" Prince fan got a little out of control last nite at the philly show and Prince called her "grandma"!????

Is this the truth and if so, why would he call her that?

How the hell can somebody (Prince) show sexy chest hairs and tease, have young girlie with ass's hanging out of their shorties, wiggling around the stage and expect for people to act "normal" ?

And, why a need for the "grandma" as if this was an insult to be "Old"? lol

Will Prince ever be labeled "grandpa"?! And if he has that chance, Prince, it aint to bad being a "grandma" or "grandpa" rolleyes

awww... hug Don't worry sweetie you'll get to see him soon! I thought I'd NEVER get the opportunity to see him live and I did last week for the first time!

As for the grandma comment...well...err...I guess it's no secret Prince does have a mean streak in him. shrug

This is what happened. When the part of the show came where he lets people come on stage everything was going great, and after a song or two this older woman comes on the stage and makes a beeline for Prince. All would have been good except for the fact that she started hugging on him while he was playing the guitar. His comment was, easy grandma I'm working at which point she waqs quickly taken off the stage. We were laughing so hard about the whole thing because they snached her of the stage so fast it was as if she litterly dissapeared.

PS, she was loaded on booze or something else. She actually moved people out of the way to get to Prince.

lol Well that is understandable. Who wants to be malled when you are trying to put on a show for people?

Happyme,

Just for the record, why do you care that he called a grandma a grandma so much. I could see if he called her a bitch, or something like that but grandma, lighten up bro.

Very "Christian" of him lol

I only care because drunk or not, he teases, people get out of control, he calls her "grandma"? As if there is something wrong with "older" fans, woman. Why not just say "Easy Woman", instead of "easy grandma". confused

And for the record, I am not a grandma or grandpa, and really, there is nothing wrong with this blessed title.

I didn't mean you as a grandma, I'm saying whats wrong with him calling a grandma a grandma? And what does religion have to do with this? Like I said, he didn't call the woman a bitch.

Jesus... disbelief

Look, next time keep your hands to yourself and you won't have to worry about getting embarrassed about it. As old as (you) the woman is she should certainly know the rules by now. Prince has no problems hollerin' "Security!"

The woman was acting a little scary - and it was kind of embarassing the way she was all over Prince. Prince took one glance at her as she was being pulled away and thought of a quick line on the spot that was funny and made the crowd laugh, instantly re-taking control of the show. He handled the situation in exactly the right way.

People like her have no respect for the fact that Prince lets people up on stage - too many incidents like that and he won't do that anymore.

The show was great stuff, by the way - much better than I was expecting.

Perhaps, he meant "Grandma Nelson, take at easy you're embarassing me again.."
Perhaps, he meant, "You hug as tightly as my Grandma did..I'm just a little bitty thing..."

Why do you take things so seriously?

another way to look at it is...
1) Prince is one of the politest entertainers you'll ever meet
2) John Lennon was shot by someone who walked up to him on the street..think about it.
3) Prince is going to stop letting fans get so close if they don't behave, and I wouldn't blame him one bit

why don't fans see things through his eyes...?

exactly. you'd figure that people would know this by now...that, and prince has absolutely no problem with calling people out if they got the nerve to be onstage and drunk as hell.

anyways, this incident sounded funny as hell...almost makes me wish i were at the philly show. lol
