Is Prince Picked On? Do you think that Prince is treated unfairly by the media and picked on because of his height? I mean every time  read an article about him they always say something like "the tiny rock star" or "pint-size star." The media loves to bring celebrities down to earth. With Prince, I think it is a case of his talent so intimidates them that mentioning his height is their way of trying to regain some superiority and punturing the balloon of his ego. Personally, I think it is a very small-minded attitude.
But it's not just Prince, the media goes for anything they can to get a dig in - for instance with Barbara Streisand and Barry Manilow a joke about their nose is never far away. I'm sure there are many other examples. | |

[Edited 2/28/06 15:55pm] Yes, I do. Prince is not only good looking but he is also very talented. Those reporters only write articles, and some of them look like crap on a daily basis. The media is filled with stupid people like CJ. They are so freaking jealous and green with envy. | |

Personally, I feel writers are jealous of their subjects. Mick Jagger's lips..Madonna's gap tooth..Keef Richards' wrinkles..to me, what they're really saying is "I'm jealous of you, Mr/Ms Superstar..let me show my envy by cutting you" Same thing happened in high school, right?...Look at that guy..why is she going out with him?...means..I wish I was going with her. Same thing as "Do you mind some unsolicited advice?...it means "let me criticize something about you without you realizing it" | |

He's picked on for his height for sure but also for his quirkiness and love of privacy.He seems to have a bad reputation for being petulant which has followed him since the '80's.Also,there are so many references to his mental disposition(ie;potty prince headlines)and this is both presumptuous and offensive.Compared to some celebrities like MJ.Gary Glitter,R.Kelly,Phil Spector he is one of the sanest around. Time is a trick.... | |
