Prince & A Course In Miracles

I've been skimming through "A Course in Miracles" and I noticed certain phrases like "Time is a trick/Time is an illusion" and a couple of other things that resembled things Prince had said in the mid to late 90's (Something I vaguely remember about coincidence). Has anyone ever heard of Prince directly mentioning this book (study)? Is there anyone who has studied (read) this book and knows for a fact, that some of the stuff Prince had posted on his Love4oneanother site was influenced by this book? Just curious.

I am studying from the book. Honestly speaking, he could have coined that phrase from a number of sources. It's a contact theme in all New Age material.

Anyway, I believe Prince speaks according to his spiritual convictions. He obviously feels that Time really is an illusion. I believe this to be true, also- but I say it in a different way. If you say to someone " Time is an illusion", without really explaining what you mean, that phrase just goes over their head, and you fail to enlighten that person, and they think that you are just"out there"- by yourself...

Prince was reading a lot of socalled New Age / enlightenment books back then, like Betty Eadie´s Embraced By The Light which inspired him to write Into The Light. As Ndigo mentioned above, those phrases and sentences reoccur in many New Age books. He was also reading the Celestine Prophecies ( awful, IMHO) and some selfhelp books and even recommended a book by a certain Dr.Richard Anderson called Cleanse And Purify Thyself ( remember that line from The Love We Make ?) It was mentioned on a flyer at one of those Paisley parties...I later found out it´s about colon cleansing. biggrin

That time topic is a fascinating issue, I wrote my thesis about the concept of time and time in different cultures ...a Chris Rock interview from 1999 inspired me.

Time is one of the many reoccuring themes in Prince´s music.

You can also find some other obscure Prince lines in many underground/conspiracy books...check out some of R.A.Wilson´s non-fiction books.

Remember that line from Family Name "..or did I arrive before you and ruin Thanksgiving Day...?"

There is a book called "They Came before Columbus" which is about Africans/Egyptians crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
