do u ever get Princed-out?

Im excited as much as I can muster over this 3121project but it just isnt pulling me in like it used to. That's a good thing. Reduction of the sickness. Right?

SenseOfDoubt

It happens to me periodically, as with every other musician I like to listen to a lot.

Before the color of my face changed purple during december, I was very much into the Bowie/Talking Heads/Kraftwerk/Joy Division/Brian Eno stuff. But suddenly the fire for them was burning low when I put in PR. Next thing? Can't tell, maybe back to Frank Zappa... who knows.

It's strange.

I thought he topped himself with the Musicology show and year. Maybe I shoujld die now as Ive seen the 2 pinnacle years?

It would be interesting to die and see what he did for an encore second half of his life.carer while Im either upstairs or downstairs though. Just to see. where he could possibly take it now, reinvention wise.

feel that coming I just cut out all Prince related
stuff for like a week.

I'll probably cut him out, like the week before
3121 comes out just so I'll be fresh and anixous
for the new album biggrin
If you will, so will I

I get Princed-out all the time. In fact so many times that for years now, I've listened to his music less than 1 hour a week most of the time, with my listening sometimes going up to three, four hours a week if I get something new.

But I cheat. If I count the number of hours during which a Prince song is playing in my head, it totals to... a lot. So while I don't listen to Prince that much, his music stays on mind on its own. There ain't nothing I can do about it. Like, since I got off work today (6 hours ago) I find myself playing BS in my head about every 15 minutes. I'm hoping to change the tune to A Tribute To Miles by bedtime.

I used to get excited by anything Prince. I remember ditching school or, in later years, classes at university and work. Since the mid to late 90's, though, I have gradually lost the fire. I still have it for other artists so i know its not an age thing. Prince just doesn't give me reason to flip my lid anymore. Musicology was almost exciting but then he did that hits tour. A big downer for me but it made sense for the general public.

Anyway, I still follow his career (obviously, I'm here aren't I) but my days of road trips to see the man are over. So are my nights of looking for the afterparty in hopes of a performance. In the past they were sure to include performances and kick ass performances at that. Nowadays you're lucky if he even shows up, and when he does play its more about the band than it is about him.

Prince is still the man but he needs to get hungry again. If he does, that's when I'll get excited.

clapping

That's so great!

I've listened to TAC, Black Sweat, Fury and BLB a couple of times, but otherwise, I haven't been listening to any Prince music in weeks which has never happened with me.

Black Sweat got me happy...I'm looking forward to 3121.

hmmm No. I try to listen to other artist too. It keeps a healthy balance. Can't dream about Prince to much even though it's fun batting eyes.
