Nope, I like all three discs. Besides nobody ever agrees on the best twelve tracks so it's best left as is.

with all this said above, I guess I would agree with the opinion that some of the songs on Emancipation dragged for too long (and the only reason for that was to fit the 60-minute format Prince has imposed on himself). With some edits, the album would go even better... but I do agree - the 3 CDs are superb, except maybe the production style at some places... otherwise one of my favourite Prince albums

I've always felt that 'Emancipation' should have been 2 CDs instead of 3.There were some truly inspired songs but they were kinda "buried" somewhere in the 3-CD set.Get rid of the four remakes and the filler tracks and you got a killer 2-CD Prince album.This is how the 2-CD should have looked:

***"Betcha By Golly Wow"---Considering all the songs that Prince has in the vaults,why include remakes?! This version is okay,but it can't compete with the Stylistic's original version.

***"We Gets Up"---Truly one of the worst Prince songs EVER!

***"Eye Can't Make U Love Me"---another useless remake.

***"Mr.Happy"---nothing special about this song.The lyrics are corny and musically,it's not that interesting.

***"Joint 2 Joint"---this is not a bad track.Perhaps it could have been saved for another project?

***"La La Means I Love U"---another useless remake.I love the song,but it's been covered by so many other artists.

***"Style"---forgettable funk track

***"Da Da Da"---ditto

***"One Of Us"---I think it's kinda odd to make a remake of a song that was a hit for another artist only a year earlier.Plus,I never cared for this song at all.

***"Emancipation"---this is a weak title track! Glancing at my list above,maybe Prince should have titled the 2-CD set "New World","The Plan" or "The Holy River"?

***"Somebody's Somebody"---I've always felt that this song sounds like a Babyface or R.Kelly song.It's not a bad song,just not a very distinctive one.

***"The Love We Make"---this schmaltzy ballad puts me to sleep!

1 disc. no more. with the theme of disc 2. and shorten some of that shit if you have to.
