After reading this thread, imagine if there was a Prince.org back in the 80's when Purple Rain, SOTT and Lovesexy came out lol...

But I find the final of the song deeply "Princesque" because the song begin with this kind of sexual ambiguity (boy or girl) and by the end it becomes a kind of religious song. So, this mixture make me happy. Not necesarily laugh, but feel like I understand some special irony. "Todo está bien chévere" Stevie

The Ballad of Dorothy Parker. (I used to like it, but due to personal reasons, no more.) I don't dislike it. I just don't think it's as good as everyone makes it out to me, Strictly an average ballad at best. |

I have always been bewilder as to the reason why anyone found entire album "GOLD" to be that great. With exception to "Shy," "SHHH", "I hate U", and "Most Beautiful..." there is very little else to be proud of. The Undertaker, and EXODUS were much better IMO.

A lot of times, these are simple cases of being overexposed to a song. I can hardly stand listening to Take Me with U or Raspberry Beret, but once in a while they sound real good, like they did at first.
There are lots of other bad reasons for not liking a song nearly everyone likes, like not having great taste in music. That leaves us with the songs nearly everyone likes that you really should not like : Actually, I can't come up with any examples of songs that nearly everyone likes that I should dislike. That's because almost every song Prince has done has its critics.

I just remember from a thread about "overrated" songs that the three of us (you, me & NasalHair) seemed to be in a minority. I misinterpreted thinking it was "average" for dislike. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Still Waiting-the most cringe-inducing P song of them all Gotta Broken Heart Again-2nd most cringe-inducing song of all time Head-not a big deal Songs I like, but don't think are a big deal Adore-the sugariest of all of his songs. I generally have no problem with that, especially when it comes from P, but if fans are gonna dis Diamonds and Pearls for sugar, they're forgetting about this one, the sugar king Alphabet St.-it's alright. nothing more than that, tho. I sooo agree with all you say here. Diamonds and Pearls is exotically beauutiful.
