so these are automatically ejected from this list. I LOVE Bambi...What the hell, Fonkee? U aint the only one! Yeah but as a fan, i like 99% of all Prince stuff, only: not everyone I know likes those songs with them high voice arrangements like I do... I guess a true Prince fan also digs the songs i mentioned

It's kind of hard to limit to just three joints, but here I go ...
Tambourine ... always a favorite. Joint 2 Joint ... is such a developing track and then he takes it up another notch. Come On ... the whole crunchy beat, and regardless of the video and him playing that old man, it's still a great joint. Dang almost an eight-year-old joint.

Well obviously I'm not the only one who likes these but:
Avalanche (Truly one of my top 10 Prince songs) Play In the Sunshine (It always seemed to be one of the first songs voted off of SOTT Survivor type threads) Savior (I actually don't read much about this song but I certaily don't sense any love) BTW - I saw Delirious and Strange Relationship on lists and those 2 songs are in my top 10 so taste is subjective (although I think both of those are actually very popular around here) I think this thread deserves a sister topic about 3 songs that everyone else likes that we cannot stand. . [Edited 2/28/06 10:34am] Avalanche is breathtaking. The metaphor is right on and the drama of the music developing like an actual avalanche is brilliant and beautiful. The song is controversial because of the flipping of AL's image but the song is really about atonement and responsibility to overcome psychological and historical barriers. The lyrics are so smart on many levels and his vocal is spine tingling. I would agree with you that a lot of orgers probably don't appreciate this masterpiece.

I'm a "Tick,Tick,Bang" fan too i'm afraid.
"Condition of The Heart" is another I love, but know from previous threads that others dont feel the same way. "Tambourine" is another favorite of mine. Love, love, love that one. I also like a lot of the Diamonds and Pearls era and the few years after that, which i know some people think was too commercial or whatever. Personally I thought that period of music was great. Original, diverse and fun. "Playing hard to get is getting hard to play".

A lot of people are picking songs that hardly have 50 % of the Prince fan community against them let alone 99 %. The only Prince songs that are anywhere close to having, say, 70 % of Prince fans against them, are :
The Arms of Orion Jughead Graffiti Bridge Animal Kingdom Betcha By Golly Wow Life O' the Party Shoo-bed-ooh Push It Up The Wedding Feast Work the P. WARNING : Do NOT make a cd-r of this tracklist nor make the songs a playlist on your iPod. There's a very real possibility you might die from shame or at best go temporarilly deaf.

The One Song : because everybody hate it and because the PP moderator refuse to put it in the download store.
Solo : Because I remember to hate (or skip) it. God : Same as "Solo". Humm don't you think these three songs works fine 2gether?

Betcha Bye Golly Wow...Excellent singing Life O' The Party..."I'm the Life O' the party, as long as I got yo body... SHAKIN LIKE A LEAF ON A TREE" You can't tell me that part isn't FUN-KAY! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Right the Wrong:
I always thought this song was a good, energetic rocker. I was always surprised to see the contempt fans have for it. Shake: I think it's a fun, well-made pop song that's very catchy. Shoo-bed-ooh: Another song that's just plain catchy. There's nothing wrong with it at all. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I've seen several of my guilty pleasures listed:
The Human Body (one of only 3 songs from Emancipation that I actually like!) Poom Poom I Wanna Melt With U Escape Strange Relationship Forever in My Life (although I think there is a lot of love for this one...) The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

PurpleKnight said: Also, Strange Relationship, jone70? Who doesn't love that song? I totally agree with you, but DarlingDiana and Funkii mentioned it too ...so I just added it to my list. (Note I said all of mine had been previously mentioned.) So if you want to call someone out, start at the top (of the thread). The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
