THE WAR-MAIL FROM CHANHASSEN P.O. BOX Preface: I have never been a member of the NPG music club in any way, shape, or form, but I came across an interesting discovery.
I was sifting through some old stuff yesterday and I came across a small package from a P.O. Box in Chanhassen, MInnesota. The package contained (at one time) the cassette of the War. I have listened to the song numerous times since, but never dumped the package. I wanted to see if anyone else received a package for The War via a Chanhassen P.O. BOx. Was this normal at the time? "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

This is from 1998, when they mailed out the War cassette to folks who'd ordered from 1800NF, or were on previous mailing lists..

Some people, whose name appeared on more than one list (or more than once on the same list) reported receiving more than one copy.
However, others, whose name had perhaps featured on a list that was lost, or whose name had inadvertently been overlooked, received nothing. I telephoned on the old 1-800 number at the time and explained that I had received nothing despite having made previous orders. They checked back and verified this - and I subsequently received a tape in the post. . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

I beleive it was also a free gift 2 all those who ordered the Crystal Ball Official Bootleg set from the old 1-800-NEW-FUNK Merchandize site/Mail Order Dept. as a peace offering for suffering through all the Crystal Ball ordering confusion fiasco!!!
When I lived in Marshall, Minnesota during that time I also received a War Tape in the exact same type of envelope as u described, much 2 my surprise, cos I never even ordered or received Crystal Ball from 1-800-NEW-FUNK!!! All I ever ordered from them was the Emancipation Lyrics & Pictures Book!!!
